Also not related to the main story and is just a mini story
The first thing I register as my mind starts to wake up is the cold nipping at my nose. Strange as the rest of my body is warm... I crack my eyes open and I am met with the sight of Aiden's clothed black chest.
'Weird... Didn't I fall asleep on top of him?' I think to myself as I slowly start to gradually wake up. I let out a big silent yawn and grimace when some cold air hits the back of my throat and reveals to me that it is sore. 'At least I know I got a good night sleep. It isn't good unless you get a sore throat from the cold air!' I laugh to myself.
I get up just a bit to find that either I had rolled off of Aiden or he moved us so that we were laying on our sides chest to chest in our sleep. I look out the large windows and expect to see the sun out, but it is dark from the thick rain clouds covering the sky. It is also raining just as hard as the night before, well if it even was morning. I could have slept for only a few hours and it could still be nighttime. Either way, I'm still happy about the dark sky and rain because those are my favorite weather conditions.
I don't get to ponder too much on the actual time of day when the strong arms wrapped around my lower torso tug me back down and flush against Aiden's very warm body. I don't even try to resist, instead, I snuggle closer to him, nuzzling my face against his chest while laying on his outstretched arm.
'Why is he so fucking comfy??' I question in my mind. One might think that muscles are tough and probably not comfortable... but it's a lie. The proof is right beside me. It's only when muscles flex that are they tough, but relaxed they are soft.
I remember one day I was staring at Aiden's biceps as he was sharpening his machete blades with a special rock given to him by Vincenzo's father. We were outside on top of a random building's rooftop in the Central Loop, just chatting while he prepared to run an errand for a survivor in a nearby dark zone. It was a bit warm, so he ditched his back and red jacket to reveal that he was wearing a black tank top, which by the way, was slightly damp from his traveling to the rooftop. He was telling a story of his travels on the road and I was letting out noises that made it seem as though I was paying attention but I was completely distracted by the muscles in his arm moving whenever he dragged the rock along the blade's edge. His arm was littered with old scars, which by the way only made my heart beat faster because of how sexy it looked, and a thin layer of sweat that made his arm glisten in the sunlight.
Needless to say, I was soon caught when I said 'mhmm' a few minutes after his story ended causing him to look at me confused then surprise when he followed my line of sight to figure out what I was looking at. I only snapped out of my trance when Aiden yelled my name causing me to practically fell out of my seat when my body jolted but I balanced myself quickly. He wore this smug smirk when he asked me if I liked what I saw which, in turn, made my brain short-circuit causing me to stutter out nonsense with a heavy blush. He then made his way over to where I was seated and crouched in front of me and brought his arm over his chest and flexed it then asked if I wanted to touch it as he didn't mind. And at that moment, I felt as though I had only two options: take him up on his offer because I know damn well I had been caught and couldn't play it off as something else, or I could jump off the building we were on and hoped that there was a car or something below to cushion my fall to escape the situation. Aiden must have seen that I was actually thinking about jumping off the building so he chuckled then grabbed my hand and placed it on his flexed bicep then moved his arm so I could feel the muscles underneath his fair skin move. And what he said after turned my mind completely to mush, 'You don't have to be so shy, you can touch whenever you want. After all, all of this is yours.'
