Ok. So we found a peaceful-looking table at the end of the corner. We ordered three lemon soda’s.
Soda is good, actually. Firstly, it doesn’t have any calories so you don’t have to worry about the weight and secondly, it’s like alcohol but not alcohol, meaning that you don’t get drunk after havin’ it. Plus it comes with lemon garnished on top so it so acts like tequila except it had green olives. But that—
“Did you tell Justin about everything? I mean about the you- know-what?” Kelly whispers to me.
“Nah,didn’t get a chance to.” I reply casually.
“Didn’t get a chance? Lexy. You watch TV with him. You sleep with him except in different rooms. You dine with him. You laugh with him. You spent all bloosy night with him and you DON’T have time?!” Kelly asks fiercely.
I try a calmer tone and say, “Kel,I don’t it’s the right time. What if..It’s not the tight time and it has complications.”
“Complicated? You are the one who’s making it bloody complicated. Why don’t you just—“
“Cut it out, Kel. She’s trying, no? Her best. She isn’t even sure about it. Maybe it’s just infatuation!” Sydney cuts in. And then walks away.
And so, Justin talk ruined my evening again. What’s his problem, anyways? He doesn’t have to like me, you know. Or does he? Oh, screw him.
Except I cant. Coz I am in love with him. And his chest.And his smile.
“Don’t get me wrong, Lex. You know I mean well.” Kelly whispers again.
Ooooh. Darling at time! At times!
“Kel, its okay. I know you do.” I reply back.
“You know he likes you too.”
“Nah. He doesn’t.”
“Then why’d he offered you his apartment?”
“Just outta courtesy. And I’d been a fool to agree. Anyway, lets drink.”
After an hour or so, at 9:30, Ryan and Syd dropped me back at my apartment. I kissed Syd’s cheek and whispered ‘All the best’ to Ryan. They had a date today!
Why can’t Justin take me out somewhere? Oh right, coz we are JUST friends!
Then I climb the stairs thinking about Ry and Syd.
Yeah, they are perfect. He loves and she doesn’t even realize how lucky she is! I am happy for her coz one fine day she’ll get up at 7 and realize that she is the luckiest girl out there and they---
My cell phone rings and I am distracted. “Hello?”
“Hey bitch! Long time, no see? Watsup? Erin’s voce comes through the phone.
Erin McNoughy. I met her through Justin at a party where he took me. We became friends there.
A few drinks and she spilled that she had hots for Justin. And I was so jealous that I almost choked. Erin said she had set her eyes on Justin the moment she joined NYU.
She says Justin would have dated her if he lied her. That is coz when she asked out Justin, he said that he liked her as a friend only..But thay have been great friends since. Really close, everyone says. And I have no other option than believe it.
Anyway, she is really sexy! Her physique, I mean. She’s sixe 2 paractically- Would’ve been size zero if she didn’t have a soft side for chocolate!
