Chapter two-
“Morning, Lexy”
I open my eyes as I see Justin’s blurry figure in front of me. I wake up instantly.
“What? Is it time already?” I ask, yawning.
“No.”
“Then why?”
Are you finally going to ask me out? On your knew? But I don’t see a ring. I see a mug of coffee..what’s happening?
“Technically, its 3 already. Sydney is in the living room.” He finishes.
I give him a what-did-you-just-say look.
Oh. Sydney,
I get outta my bed and wear the slippers before going out.
I can see her there. “Syd?”
“Lex, I am sorry. I hope I am not disturbing you..” Syd says.
“No, that’s okay. I actually roam around during this time of the morning…I am god.” I say sarcastically.
“Huh?” that confused look.
“Idiot. Ofcourse, I was sleeping. What are you doing here at 3a.m. in the morning when you should be slee—“
I get interrupted by a door bell.
“That must be Kelly and Ray.”
“Kel and Ray?” I ask, confused.
“I called them here..sorry.”
“That’s okay. I think I am having a concussion.”
“Very funny, Lex. Open the door.”
“Oh, right.” And I open the door.
And Ray and Kel come, bursting in.
“Why has she called a meeting right now?” I whisper so that Syd can’t hear me.
“I can hear you, bitch.” Syd calls out.
“Whatever.” I reply back. “Shift, I’ll get a coffee.”
“Extra caffeine and sugar.” Ray orders.
“Sorry, ma’am. This ain’t Starbucks serving you. It’s ME.” I wave at her and go to the kitchen where Justin is standing.
Already pouring the coffee in four mugs.
“I am so sorry about bombarding your house with girls. Must be really serious coz Syd won’t Bexod your otherwise.” I say, apologetically.
“It’s okay. You go ahead with your work and I’ll go and sleep..Here.” He smiles, passing me the tray.
“We won’t make noise.” I say and kiss his cheek lightly. I just needed an excuse to touch him someway..And the Thank you sounded perfect for that. “Means a lot.”
He smiles that drop-dead-right-now-or-my-smile-will-kill-you smile and went back to his room.
I went back to the couch and handed them the cups.
“So? Let’s talk.”
“Ryan A problem.” Syd muttered.
And we were all finally alert.
“What did he do?” Kel asked curiously.
“Yeah, tell us” Ray say up against the cover.
“Syd.” I completed it.
Sydney finally glanced at the 3 of us. “We sorta clicked.”
“That’s a problem? I thought a hurricane took him away.” Ray said sarcastically.
