Chapter 1: The Prelude

It was a fine morning in Adventure Bay. Sunlights were shining among the clouds, and many birds were seen flying around the blue sky.

In the Paw Patrol lookout...

Skye was seen sleeping in her puphouse. Until then sunlight struck on her face, she slowly opened her eyes, as she woke up from her slumber.

Skye yawned and rubbed her eyes. She then stood up and walked out of her puphouse, then looked at the sky. Today's gonna be a good day.

"Morning already...it seems." Skye said to herself. Just as she looked around her surroundings, she realised nobody was around.

"They're still sleeping...?" She thought, then began walking around the lookout to check on the pups.

She checked on every puphouse and found out all of them were still sleeping. Including Chase.

Upon thinking Chase, she blushed, for no reason. The only thing that she could tell was, that she liked him. Ever since they first met, ever since that day she was being recruited into the Paw Patrol, she grew a huge affection on him, like no pup ever would.

She couldn't tell if this was just a weird feeling, or perhaps a natural phenomenon. Of course, she tried to forget all of this strange feelings, but something tells her to not to, like making her hardly forget about this one pup that she liked.

Soon she arrived at Chase's puphouse again. She saw Chase, sleeping soundly. She then smiled.

Usually Chase was always the first pup to wake up before the others. But this time, Skye was even earlier than him.

"Cute..." Skye murmured. Skye then realised she subconscious spit the word 'cute' and quickly covered her mouth with her paws, with her face slowly becoming red.

"I think I said that out loud..." Skye thought, feeling embarrassed. "I hope he doesnt hear that."

Then only did Chase indistinctly heard Skye's voice. He groaned and slowly opened his eyes, then saw Skye who was standing right in front of his puphouse. The second he saw Skye, his eyes immediately shot up, as he quickly stood up from his paws.

"S-Skye?" Chase nervously called out. "W-What are you d-" He could feel his heart beating even faster than normal, for no reason.

"No, never mind." He shook his head, trying to get rid of his useless thoughts. "S-Sorry about that."

"It's...uh, fine." Skye quickly replied. "Sorry for...waking you up."

"Why am I feeling nervous all of a sudden?" Skye thought.

"Guess I'm early than you now, huh." Skye said, trying to cast aside this awkward situation. "Normally you'll always beat our waking time."

"Nah." Chase simply replied. "I think you're just too early-"

But the moment when he looked at his alarm clock, he realised himself being late for over ten minutes. Skye had to hold herself from bursting into laughter.

"Wait what?!" Chase gasped. "I was the one being late now!!"

Then he remembered he forgot to set the alarm yesterday...

He sighed, as he slowly walked out of his puphouse. "Welp, you beat me."

Skye chuckled. "I guess I did."

"I'm gonna wake the rest up, then." Chase said. "You head over to the lookout for breakfast, okay? I'll be right there."

Skye nodded. She watched as Chase went over to wake the others. For some reason, her eyes never seemed to let him go.
