You work at a regular job, have a regular group of friends, and...who're you kidding? You're life's a disaster. If you've ever heard of priorities, you'd know that your life doesn't have room for that because of the utter mess you've made of it. This is something that a certain someone loves to rub in your face very often.

"Wooow, can't even pay for a bowl of ramen, Y/n? How sad." Scaramouche lightly slaps your hand out of the way and pays for your single bowl of microwaveable ramen.

He tosses it to you and gives a grin of mockery. "What, you think I did it out of the goodness of my heart? You owe me." He puts his hand in his pocket and carries his groceries out of the convenience store.

"Owe you? What, like two bucks??" You chase after him, pushing open the door and watching him lightly chuckle, standing at the door. "Nah. Three dollars fifteen." His face grows close to yours before he leaves with a the same mocking grin.

"How does one small cup of instant ramen cost so much??"

"Dunno. It's your problem, not mine."

"Could you at least try to care? Emo ass."

"Do I get extra points if I act like I care? Shut up and help me get my drink out."

"Fine, fine. So bossy.."

Scaramouche looks unamused at your remark; as if calling him "bossy" hit a nerve or something. Maybe that's why he's making you grab his drink for him even though he has one free hand lazily kept in his hoodie pocket.

Standing on the side of the sidewalk, you rummage in the plastic shopping bag and grab his favorite energy drink: monster. The purple one you can't stand the taste of.

You ask him, "Are you addicted to these or something? Wait 'til Aether hears about this." You found it funny to see him so mad over the smallest things like this. He quickly snatches the monster out of your hand and opens it. A crack and pop sounding just as aggressive as his attitude.

You see him take a few gulps and begin to feel a bit thirsty yourself. If only you had remembered to bring your wallet...

Leaning against the brick wall beside Scaramouche, you watch the few cars passing by and feel the light vibrations of a few speeding cars on the concrete. You drop your instant ramen in Scaramouche's plastic shopping bag and put your hands in your pockets. Bored and waiting for him to break the silence first.

If you say anything, even if it's random and something he doesn't even understand, he'll get even more annoyed with you and insult you about whatever you've said. Right now when he's so annoyed, there's nothing else to do but wait until he breaks the silence, lest you want to get whined at.

But you don't really care, and say something first anyway.
"You know, Heizou's birthday a while ago was--"

"Do you have to bring up that thing so often?" Scaramouche didn't even let you finish, calling Heizou a "thing" to boot.

Annoyed by getting interrupted, you say back, "At least that thing doesn't interrupt people when it's in one of it's moods."

You ignore his glares burning holes into the side of your face and you resist the urge to punch him in the face. You both stay silent for a moment, which didn't last very long since you felt petty and wanted to annoy him some more.

"You know, Kazuha was showing me a few poems he wrote the other day."

Scaramouche grits his teeth. You can see the muscles in his jaw flex as he pulls down his cap to hide his eyes. He opens his mouth and takes another few gulps of his drink— his fingers tighten around the can and cause a slight crinkling sound to be heard, causing you to wonder why he gets so worked up over nothing all the time..
