When I got home today, all you did was stare.
How strange.
I was prepared for a beating.
Like what usually happens.
You notice my hesitation.
"What do you want, girl?" You ask.
"Where's Mom?"
"Out."
I walk to my room, trying to avoid your wandering eyes.
But I hear your footsteps following.
