Yelena still couldn't believe it. Barbara has become an anthropomorphic bomb, and this is scary shit for her. And Pamela isn't doing shit about it, and to make matters even worse, she couldn't tell anyone about the truth behind this island.

Yelena walked down the stairs and sat down on the couch, letting out a sigh. She broke into tears, knowing that she may lose her humanity regardless of choice, and Pamela doesn't give a shit. Tears running down Yelena's cheeks, she couldn't help but grab one of those tiny pillows and scream.

Boris Reader, 33, who was passing by to grab another book from the bookshelf, noticed Yelena throwing a fit.

"Can you stop crying?! And why are you crying?!" Boris asked.
"Uhhh, I cannot tell you the exact reason why, but as of last night, Barbara is... gone." Yelena replied, her voice breaking.
"Oh, don't bother telling me why, I already know why Barbara has gone missing and it is connected with those disappearances months ago."
"Disappearances? Months ago?"
"Yes, Yelena, those disappearances." Boris replied, prompting Yelena to get up from the couch, "It is crucial that you come with me, to the library."
Yelena didn't give a verbal response, only a nod implying yes. Yelena and Boris walked out of the door, the hot sun beaming onto their skin after a night of rain, smoke, and, heaven forbid, a gory mess burnt to ashes. The waves of the ocean swooshing back and forth and the squawking of the seagulls were what could be heard. The flowers surrounding the villa were in full bloom, various aromatic scents overhauling the scent receptors of the two humans.

"We're almost there... and we're now here." Boris pointed at a two story building that had a sign saying Library. The path to the library is made entirely of limestone, even the steps were made of limestone, probably combined with ammonite, marble, and obsidian. The structure of the building looked like something that was built in the 19th century (although it really isn't). Both Yelena and Boris enter the building, opening the door, and when Boris walked away from the door, the doors SLAMMED shut.

"Okay, there's got to be a section where the disappearances are documented." Boris mumbled to himself.
"Boris, those are contemporary events, I doubt that there'd be any documentation on those-" Yelena tried to refute but got interrupted.
"Found it! It's a large book, and why'd you ever doubt me, Yelena!"
"BORIS! That book seems suspicious!" Yelena yelped, as Boris grabbed the book. The book was two-toned, blue and green. The pages seemed as white as teeth after a whitening treatment. There were words on the spine saying Disappearances at Deerville, 2017.
"Now we can find out what is going on, and what all those disappearances are about." Boris opened the book as Yelena facepalmed, backing away from Boris, wanting to avoid any.. unwanted side effects. Instead of actual words, he was greeted with a puff of blue and green dust. Boris coughed up a storm, sneezing as well. Suddenly, the dust stopped existing and Boris was eventually able to see all the words within the book.
"Phew, thank God that the duststorm is over, I was worried that I would have transformed too." Boris then began to read the pages, "Anna McCowsky, age 35, occupation: graphic designer, became Announcer..."

As Boris continued to read the book, Yelena began to become more and more afraid of what's to come and pointed at Boris' left arm, which was beginning to become vantablack color. The blackness started on his fingertips, but it was spreading like wildfire on his arm. Audible cracks and pops could be heard as his fingers merged together and his palm bloated into a sphere. His arm was rapidly becoming thinner and thinner, being stripped of fat and muscle in seconds, not that he really had much fat or muscle in his body in the first place. Boris, too entuned within his reading session, ignored the changes, mustering up the pain as his other arm fell the same fate as his left arm; becoming vantablack, hand being reduced into a sphere, and becoming thinner and thinner. His arms now resemble drumsticks (the ones you use for drums to play music, not the edible ones) rather than actual arms.
