Goten was on his last reserves of ki. He didn't want to lose but he didn't have enough power.
The stories gohan told him came back to him. He tensed up and used a lot of his ki as pressure pushing trunks away.
He powered up. He was at his maximum limits. Finally using the vision that he might never had seen or met his father he screamed.
It was louder than anything else that the audience or the z-fighters could hear.
Tears streaming down his face, his hair spiked up, sharp.

He blasted his aura flaring up. It was brighter than anything. Blinding everyone.
Trunks was barely able to react to goten's punch. He didn't have enough time to dodge so he blocked.

Fatal mistake, Goten's punch easily could've snapped trunk's arm like a twig but he held back.
Still trunks could'nt keep up and his guard was broken leaving him up for an attack.
Goten kicked trunks right on the side of his torso. Quickly grabbing him by his neck throwing him up and punching his stomach.

It easily made trunks spit out some saliva as the air was knocked out him. He tried to counterattack throwing a kick.
Goten caught the kick grabbed his ankle and slammed him with enough force that he had bounced off the ground. Goten grabbed his neck and throwing him out the ring like a football.
Trunks was also tied up in a ki rope just to make sure he would stay out.
Gohan:"I guess he inherited your battle smarts huh dad?"
Vegeta:"I didn't even think he could reach the level that took us years in seconds. I'll admit, your spawns have potential."
Goku:"Right now he might be the strongest here. Even though he wasn't comparable to us mere minutes ago he caught up in a race he was never in."
Piccolo:"He lacks technique. Its just brute force and sensless beating."
Hercule:"AND SON GOTEN WINS THE CHILDREN DIVISION!"
