Public execution was not Morgana's ideal way to start the day, Aurelius can call her squeamish or a coward until he's blue in the face, Morgana just could not bring herself to accept this aspect of life in medevial times - she also regrets all that time learning about ancient Greece and the Roman dynasty too.
None of her historical knowledge has much use in Albion during the times of Camelot, which Morgana Jackson had once believed to be nothing but a myth. Not like the mythology of the gods, but an actual myth with no founding in reality - children of Trivia were serious about uncovering the truth behind magic in mythology, they had never uncovered any proof of the Arthurian legends and everything that came along with them holding any basis in reality.
Evidently, they were mostly wrong, but such is life.
In her personal opinion there is nothing criminal about being born with magic, Morgana Jackson had been proud to be claimed as a legacy of Trivia, the Roman counterpart of Hecate. Whilst she had been no Circie in regards to her prowess Morgana had absolutely loved the feeling of magic, almost as much as she did the oceans welcoming embrace. She had especially adored the pure wonder that magic brought to baby Estelle, who loved nothing more than dancing lights lulling her to sleep.
In this life Morgana still has magic and knows with absolute certainty that it is not something which makes her evil, in fact her favorite part of magic is the art of healing - a joy she had shared with Thomas, the man about to be publicly executed for his well meaning intentions.
A day earlier Thomas James Collins had been caught by Arthur and the Knights in his most recent attempt at a healing enchantment, for which Uther sentenced the man to death via beheading in the town square.
Now, Morgana may have never ruled a Kingdom, but she knew that if one of her fathers own subjects had the initiative to attempt such a miracle he would provide funds and materials to aid the creator in their work, hell even Zeus would be in favor, if only for all of the positive female admiration it would garner him.
But not Uther, the mere mention of magic is grounds for execution in his eyes.
Standing on her balcony as the King started his speech Morgana saw that neither Arthur nor Aurelius were to be seen. Arthur could get away with the excuse of doing patrols with the Knights, but Aurelius would not be so easily excused, Uther had become unreasonably strict with him as of late, to the point the ever oblivious Arthur has noticed.
Hearing delicate footstep crossing her chambers Morgana looked away from the upcoming execution and smiled at Elaine, her personal maidservant and confidant. The petite blonde silently took a hold of Morgana's hand but remained out of the windows view, always there and willing to show her support even when another of her station would hardly dare to act so informally.
Morgana simply adored Elaine for her gentle nature, most everyone who met her felt the same way - everyone except Aurelius who routinely drove the gentle girl to tears, although he could do the same to just about anyone he met.
Giving the compassionate girls hand a light squeeze Morgana smoothed out her sorrowful expression and turned to watch, as the King expects of her.
Sometimes, Morgana found her thoughts pondering if Uther knows that she is sympathetic to those of magic, maybe even holding suspicion of her having magic herself. He had oftentimes asked about her dreams during the early days after first woke in Camelot, though he stopped asking once Aurelius sought out Gaius' aid for his frequent nightmares.
Shaking her head to shift her focus away from her rightful paranoia Morgana gazed down at the crowd of spectators, most of whom had the usual mixture of expressions from fearful curiosity to cruel satisfaction, there was however one face amongst the crowd who stood out to Morgana.
