The next Monday was extremely monotonous. Same gossip. Same classes. Same people. There was only one class that really interested me and that was....psychology. Which was really ironic because I never understood why our school would bother with such a class. You can't get a career majoring in psychology. Well, unless you're a psychologist. But nobody wants to hear other people's problems. We've got plenty of our own. And anyways that's what friends are for.
What's even weirder about the psychology class is the teacher. She seems too crazy to teach people how to understand others. I guess that just makes Miss Murray more interesting when it comes to assignments though.
When I first got into the classroom, she barked,"Take a seat Simons! You're a half minute too late!" To this I responded,"Miss Murray, by the way, what a lovely way to greet me, but my name is Christy Smith, not Simons. I believe that it won our little bet at the beginning of the year." "What bet?" She queried. "The one where you said that at most, you'd only call me Simons ten times on accident. I believe that that was the eleventh time, and therefore, you owe me a dollar." When Miss Murray seemed to remember she said,"You're disruption of class costs a dollar as well, so we're even." I told you she's weird.
Anyways we basically just did our daily assignments and took a pop quiz on our reading and yeah. Now to the sort-of exciting part...the infamous assignment. (imagine me not-so realistically laughing evilly)
Towards the end of class, right when the bell had rung, Miss Murray disrupted the chaos and took charge. She then announced,"Class, we're going to be doing a new assignment that involves a bit of soul searching if you will. I want you to create an essay that describes all of your deepest regrets that you have from your high school years. Nothing too personal. I don't want to pry. After you describe these faults, I want you to describe the efforts you made to make amends to these faults. And you must make a statement about how this situation made you feel. Now it's time to leave. Goodbye."
"Well that's not the least bit creepy," Jani said. "Now we can pour out our misconduct on that piece of paper. How fun!" Looking at her pale face and blue eyes, I said in mock cheerfulness,"Well at least you're excited!" She punched my arm. Wow this assignment must really bother her. I wonder if she has a secret past. Hmm? Perhaps. "Well what do you have to regret? This assignment should be easy for you," I stated. "I don't know. I don't regret ever and it's always only the big things that bother me. I don't want to talk about it," she whispered. "I get you. I always have. Just say something else realistic instead like not applying for a scholarship because you were too afraid of losing or something," I replied. "It's not something you really need to stress about, okay? I'm sure you have a great grade in there." "I guess," she said while brushing away a dark, brown wave.
*************
At lunch, we asked Kelly about the assignment. "What are you writing about?" I asked. "I'm talking about the time I lost a best friend due to lack as she always called "adequate" of appreciation of her company. I really hated her though; this is going to be the cheesiest essay ever. What are you writing about?" She asked while attempting to get food out of her otherwise perfect, straight hair. "What am I not writing about," I said. Kelly and Jani laughed their heads off. I don't know what I'd ever do without them. I'm definitely not writing about not keeping other friends. I'm glad where we all left off. Without my strong-willed Jani and my super supportive Kelly I would be lost. Yay for friendship!

Hey guys! I know; this was a short chapter, but I'll make the next one extra long. This one's just for the sake of updating. So if there's spelling errors, don't be surprised. By the way, I'm trying to add more imagery and character descriptions. But the problem is that I don't know how I want everyone to look like especially Christy. So, if you imaging a character a certain way tell me so I can add that into the character descriptions. Also, if you make a banner for this book I'll dedicate a new chapter to you! Bye.
