Well after I made it home that day and finished my assignments, I decided to do what Miss Murray called "soul searching". "Brainstorming. Brainstorming. Brainstorming. How did I manage brainstorm all these years?" I wondered aloud.
So as if on queue, my little sister asked,"What'cha thinking about?" "My deepest regrets," I answered in a very scary voice. Haha that rhymed. "You don't have to be sarcastic, Christy!" Holly exclaimed. "No, seriously. It's Miss Murray's assignment," I said back. "Oh, Myrtle Murray, no wonder no one ever married you," she said with a laugh.
Holly always managed to make my day. I will miss her next year when I go to college. "Especially with that attitude! She can seriously offend anything with that!"
"Haha. Yeah," she replied."So what does she refer to as soul searching?" Holly asked. "I really don't know. I guess we're supposed to look at our regrets and try to make amends. I'm probably going to make something up. I don't need her looking into my deepest regrets." "Yeah I'd do the same. But just for the sake of curiosity, what would you honestly write about?" She questioned.
Taking in a deep breath, I blurted out,"I would've wanted to ask Caitline why she stopped being a friend to me. I wish I knew why because I've always wanted to fix our friendship." Shocked, she asked me,"Why do you still act cold to her then?"
"I don't want her to see that I'm still hurt by her. I want her to see me as a strong person," I said stuttering. I never was the kind of person who is open about their feelings and this type of conversation scared me. "I understand. It's good to show that you're strong. But I can tell that you haven't told anyone about this before. So just know that I'm here for you. We're sisters; we need to be able to talk like this more. I love you, Christy." "I love you too, Holly." I replied, now smiling.
*****************
Later that night, Holly and I stayed up late so we could talk like real sisters. I never knew that I didn't know so much about her life. We always joked around and stuff, but I never realized that we didn't actually talk-talk, if you know what I mean. But all good things must come to an end and we couldn't continue our awesome sleepover throughout the next day. :(
When I got to school, I felt refreshed and ready to conquer the day. "What's up with your mood? I thought you hated every day except for Friday and Saturday," Jani asked. I answered,"Well, it's a long story, but I feel that a big weight has been lifted off of my chest. And guess what's weirder about it?" "What?" She asked. "Part of the reason I feel better is because of Miss Murray," I practically whispered. With eyes the size of bowling balls and a hand laying right below her mouth, she queried,"How is this even possible?""I know right?" I answered laughing. "But h-how?" She questioned. Okay that was a bit dramatic, but I don't blame her. Miss Myrtle Murray is messed up. "I talked to Holly about the things a regret and I feel a lot better," I stated.
"Oh okay that makes more sense." She replied. "Let's get to science now, we've got to hurry!" Once she said this I looked at my watch and realized that we had only about one minute to get to the other side of campus.
Luckily, I planned our route. "Okay," I said while running to class,"Take a left here. Yes, yes go through the gym. It's the only way to get there fast enough. Dodge the PDA couple. Avoid the trophy case! Jump over the fallen child! There's no time!" Okay, I know the jumping over the fallen child thing was kind of sad, but to my defense she was just receiving help from her friends after we past her.
So anyways, after we dodged a couple more obstacles the door to Biology was in sight. I starting screaming to Jani, "Victory! Victory! I told you we'd make it!" But then we encountered an obstacle much worst than the ones prior to it.
Dun! Dun! Dun! It was........no other than the evil witch herself or as people here call her, Caitline Young. And she had to bicker. Again. She started screaming,"You ruined my sixteenth birthday! You came to my party and embarrassed me in front of all my friends! What the heck is up with that! Why can't you be normal and not so malicious?" Without pausing at all I shot back,"I didn't ruin your party. You did. And save it we know your eighteen! Stop fooling yourself! And get over yourself drama queen!" "Yeah," Jani piped up. "Plus what the heck was with hurting Maddie? I know you're jealous of Christy, but that doesn't give you the right to hurt her!" You say it sister! I was so proud of Jani. She usually wasn't that confrontational. Before Caitline could say something more, Jani added,"Excuse me, but my best friend and I have to get to class!" And then we made it into class without a second more to spare.
