Chapter 4: The Confrontation (spooky name right?)

So right now it was fall and Halloween was just coming around the corner......
Christy woke up in panic. The alarm was going off and she sighed in relief. "It was only a dream. It was only a dream," She repeated to herself. "For now!" An unfamiliar voice said as a hand grabbed her shoulder. Christy's cat-like reflexes responded instantly as she quickly grabbed her lamp and hit whatever the voice was coming from. "Owww!!!! What the heck was that for!"
The unfamiliar voice yelped. Apparently the unfamiliar voice was Christian, Christy's boyfriend. Now recognizing the face and the voice, Christy said, "Sorry!"

She then asked, "Wait, what are you doing here?" "When I came to drive you to school, your sister let me in and asked me to help her scare you. It's Friday remember? The day I usually pick you up?" He answered. "Oh, yeah sorry. I need to get ready can you meet me downstairs in like ten minutes?" Christy asked. "Sure, I knew you'd say that, so I came here an hour early." Christian said with a smirk creeping onto his face. Confused, Christy looked at her alarm and saw that it was 5:00 am. She then looked at her boyfriend like he was an alien and screeched, "Why did you set my alarm early? And who the heck wakes up before 5:00 am to mess with their girlfriend? Also, why did Holly wake up this early? Why did you plan this scaring thing so far ahead of time?"

"Quit your rambling," Christian said. "And get ready." "Ugh, you're the worst," Christy responded. "I know and that's why you like me," He replied while walking out the door of her blue room. "You know, when I got a queen sized bed, I thought that I'd sleep like a queen, but no, life had to get me up early," Christy complained.  She walked to her four-drawer dresser, and looked for an outfit. First, she chose some cute denim shorts and a pink sweater. Then seeing that it was freezing outside, she decided to assess the other options. Christy then picked out some black skinny jeans with a blue, loose t-shirt. The t-shirt said: I'm with stupid. Realizing how dumb the shirt was, she decided to go with a long sleeved blue cable-knit sweater instead. Christy then walked over to her shoe rack and chose some brown boots to finish the look off. Christy then curled her blonde hair and brushed her teeth and called herself presentable.

Thinking that she would take the outfit a step further, she added a brown beanie on the way out of her house. "Finally ready?" Christian asked. "It's already 6:00 am." "And school doesn't start until 8:00 am so yeah," Christy replied. An awkward silence passed upon them while Christian pulled out of the driveway and started heading for school. Christy tried to occupy herself by going through everything in the car. Nosy as she was, she opened the glove compartment and like a total weirdo, she started to read the car owner's manual. In attempts to break the awkwardness enveloping the car, Christy said, "Seems like you've got a nice car here, Christian." "Yeah," he replied. This was only their fifth week of being a couple, so it seemed like these sort of silences were some what expected. But Christy didn't want it to be that way. So she kept trying.

"How's your classes? Haven't seen you in our classes for a while," Christy asked. She thought that this was weird because they seemed so comfortable this morning, and this car ride seemed to blow. "They've been good. I had to switch a few, so that's probably why you haven't seen me that often," Christian said. "You know what's weird," Christy said. "What?" Christian replied with a grin on his face. "Our full names are pretty much exactly the same except the last two letters are switched," Christy replied. Laughing Christian said, "You know that you say that during every silence to break the ice right?" Dumbfounded, Christy realized that she may be slightly redundant. So she awkwardly laughed and said, "Oh yeah." Realizing her sudden uncomfortableness, Christian said, "But that's why I like you!" In his head he knew that he sounded super fake.

"Well this is weird," Christy said. "You know it," Christian muttered. Right at that time, they drove into school an got out of the car. Holding hands, they walked inside.
