Well... This is awkward. You and Scaramouche were just walking to wherever your destination was, not talking at all.

I mean, hey, I hate talking too, and he's less likely to kill me if I shut up, but is this how he lives? With servants that probably have a severe case of Scaraphobia, and also never making small talk or even big talk?

You may be complaining in your head a bit too much, but that's really all you could do to pass the time other than admire the nature of Liyue. Which you had already done.

A lot.

You grew up in Liyue, there wasn't much to admire anymore.

You had used a teleport waypoint to get to Liyue with Scaramouche, and now you two were walking somewhere.

Honestly, you were pretty bored, but there was nothing you could really do about that. You just had to suck it up.

I want to know where we're going, but I don't have the balls to ask Lord Scaramouche where we're going.

If only I was into being electrocuted. WOAH WOAH... WHO SAID THAT??? Not me, nuh uh.You rubbed your temples to try and drive out the weird (and slightly humorous) thoughts, earning a weird look from Scaramouche.

"What in the world are you doing?" He asked, side-eyeing you suspiciously.
You looked over at him, surprised that he had talked.

"Ah.. um.. nothing, My Lord. Just thinking."

Scaramouche didn't say anything and just turned his gaze back to the terrain with a dismissive hum.

fuck me, I'm just gonna ask.

"Lord Scaramouche.. if you don't mind me asking, are we going to Liyue Harbor for this mission?"

He raised his eyebrows at you.
"Woow... you didn't even bother to find out the details of our mission before leaving. I'm just blown away at your performance and enthusiasm!" He said, his voice heavy with sarcasm.

You pursed your lips and decided to stop talking.

Scaramouche scoffed and turned his head to look at you.

"And as for your question... yes, we are. I expect you to not need to ask any more questions on our next missions."

"Yes sir."

You glanced around, wondering whether you were going to get something, or someone, to take you to Liyue Harbor.

You looked at Scaramouche, wondering whether you should ask. He seemed to be in a relatively good mood, so you decided to test your luck a bit more.

"My Lord, will we be travelling on foot to Liyue Harbor?"
You asked, attempting to hold eye contact with the harbinger while you talked to him, before realizing that was probably a disrespectful thing to do, so you looked at the trees instead.

"Yeah. What, can't handle some walking?" He said with a grin.

You accidentally let a noise of disgust out of your mouth, and quickly tried to recover.

"Oh no, of course I can. I was just wondering, because it seems... unnecessary to have to walk there."

"Unnecessary, huh?" He said, crossing his arms and looking at you. "Are you questioning my decisions? The very nerve."

You sucked in a breath and immediately waved your hands in a manner that you hoped would convey the word no.

"No, not at all! Please ignore my former comments, my lord."

"Heh." Scaramouche said, raising his eyebrows at you. "...And now you're telling me what to do."

Your face made an expression that you hoped Scaramouche wouldn't read into, as you had a few thoughts about how annoying it was going to be to work under this guy.

"In my defense, my lord, it was a request, not a demand."

You immediately grimaced at how you had said that so defensively and quickly tried to pedal back.

"I meant that in the most respectful way possible, by the way."

Ouch. That had just made it worse. What a wonderful day it would be if you weren't alive.

"Tch. It seems you still have a lot to learn about how to respect your superiors. ... luckily for you, I'll choose to turn a blind eye to your ignorance. This time." Scaramouche smirked at you while holding a hand out. His hand went back to his side and he turned around to keep walking.

"..." You stayed quiet and just followed him, knowing that if you said anything, it would probably make things worse.

But oh my archons, this guy really knows how to twist words. You scowled at the lovely information that you were going to have to work under him until... you didn't.

"Oh yeah, L/n?" Scaramouche said, looking back at you.

"Yes, My lord?"

"Since your poor little legs are already sore, you might need to prepare to walk for some more hours."

"...hours?"

"If we're walking to Liyue Harbor from here, it takes three hours on foot."

You pursed your lips, trying to keep your expression neutral.

"That's fine, my lord."

FUCK ME...
