After a while of tense small talk (which only existed due to your efforts) you and Scaramouche arrived at the last place where Lichung was last seen.
"Woah.." The place that you two had arrived at surpassed your expectations by a mile.

...The store that you and Scaramouche had found at the coordinates Sakura had given you was way worse than you expected it to be.

"This place... smells yucky." You said, stuffing your nose in your shirt to try to get rid of the smell of alcohol.

Guess Lichung was a heavy drinker.

"Start looking around." Scaramouche said, not looking at your face. Does this man not have a sense of smell? I swear to the Archons above, the Harbingers are just built different...

You headed in through the doorway of the abandoned liquor store after Scaramouche went in first, and practically recoiled from the smell.

"eww..." You pinched your nose as hard as you could and looked down at the floor. This smells like shit that's been fermented in alcohol, no joke.

Scaramouche glanced over at you, and raised his eyebrows.

"Wow, you can't even take some smell... if you can't do your job because of a bit of smell, than you aren't fit to be my assistant, or to even be in the Fatui." He said, narrowing his eyes at you.

"... yes my lord, I understand."

Scaramouche nodded, and turned around to go into what presumably was the a storage shack. Actually, this whole place was probably an abandoned storage shack.

You stood up reluctantly, and looked around the room. You didn't see anything or interest, but you decided to go and lean on a chair for a few seconds to recuperate.

Ugh, this smell is bringing back unwanted memories from back in the bad old days. You thought, closing your eyes for a second.

You heard a sound from behind you and opened your eyes, looking around the room. Scaramouche had moved on from whatever he had been doing in the room next to you, so it must've just been you being paranoid.

To try and stop your mind from racing through the unfortunate events of your childhood, you looked on the shelf to try and find something to focus on.

All you found was a bunch of beer and wine bottles.

You stopped and looked at one of the wine bottles labels, and you froze. Lichung had apparently shared the same taste in wine that your mother had, as he had quite a few of her favourite wine brands.

You gulped, remembering how she lost one of her bottles in the past and had thought that you had took it, and then she proceeded to make you sleep on the street for a couple days before she remembered that she had drank the wine.

Your mother had been a bit... extra. A drama queen, one could say. It was best not to think about your mother, for fear that you might start feeling guilty for leaving her behind and only helping to support your other family members.

She totally deserved it, but the human mind works in strange ways.

Alright, you should probably stop thinking about these things.

—but there was also that one time when she made you clean the whole house before you could go out with your friends and even when you had finished she said that you had done a horrible job and the place looked exactly the same as before, so you had to sneak out at night to see them.

Oh, and the fact that she made you participate in every sport ever because it apparently made her look good to the other parents or something like that, and when you got anything other than 1st place she hit you and said that you were a embarrassment.

even when you did get first place all you ever got was a 'good job.'

aaand the fact that she obviously favoured your brother over you, even though your brother don't like her either, which may sound like a weird thing to complain about, especially with all the other things that she'd done, but that had really hurt little you's feelings.

Wow, okay, I did not have to monologue in my head about that.

You thought, coming back to your senses and looking around the room just to double check if anyone saw you spaced out.

Thank the archons Lord Scaramouche didnt see me standing there for like a minute doing nothing. Time to get back to work.

You had searched the whole place and you had found nothing at all that was of any use. To be honest you weren't really expecting to find much in a rundown place like this, but you hoped scaramouche was still going to be in a good mood when you broke the news.

You sighed and decided to have one final look around. It had only been about four minutes, so you still had some extra time before scaramouche finished looking in whatever part of the shack he was in.

Alrighty... beer bottles, an old chair, a bunch of random things... yeah there's nothing here. Fiddlesticks.

You rubbed your eyes and glanced at the doorway.

Well, time to go and find Lord Scaramouche now. I'm praying for myself.

You did a double take when you saw Scaramouche waiting for you outside the shack.

"...Lord Scaramouche." You said, waving at him.

"L/n." He said in return. There were a few moments of awkward silence before Scaramouche spoke up.

"So, did you find anything?"

You pursed your lips and looked down at your feet.

"Unfortunately, all I found were a bunch of old beer bottles."

Scaramouche narrowed his eyes at you, and you braced for some sort of lecture about how to deduct clues from beer bottles or something like that.

"I couldn't find anything either, so you get a pass. Fortunately, there's one other place where Lichung could be residing."

You breathed a small sigh of relief.
"Alright, lead the way My Lord."
