"the story really isn't that exciting. i was just going out for a walk and apparently lord tartaglia had his eye on me for... some reason... and then he offered me a spot in the fatui and i took it." you said, not telling him about everything that had happened for multiple reasons.

One, you didn't want him to know too much about you and your life before the Fatui. Two, you definitely didn't want him to know about Xiangling, you had a very strong suspicion that he would try to use anyone or anything that you appeared to care about as leverage against you. and three, he didn't need to know.

"That's really all that happened?" Scaramouche scoffed in disbelief.

"yeah. i mean this in the most respectful way, but lord tartaglia is kinda strange. he's so... friendly, for a harbinger. it's almost like he doesn't realize how the fatui works." you said, fidgeting with your hands. truth be told, you liked the 11th harbinger. not too much, but just enough that you worried for him sometime.

"..." you got scared after a few moments of silence from the 6th harbinger and decided to pedal back. "that was incredibly disrespectful and very out of my place, i'm sorry."

scaramouche didn't respond, making you more uneasy. does he secretly like tartaglia? am i going to die already? i thought i was doing pretty good... you thought, pursing your lips as you looked around the cave.

"it's... quite dark in here, my lord. could i go and grab a candle or something?" you asked, hoping to steer the conversation away from whatever it had turned into.

"tch, i keep forgetting how incompetent humans are. sure, go and grab a little candle to help your pretty eyes see." he said, crossing his arms and side eyeing you.

you blinked, wondering what he meant by 'humans'.

...is he not human? actually i wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't one, most of the harbingers aren't human i think. wonder what he is.

"thank you, my lord."

You went back inside the room and grabbed a candle quickly and ducked back in with the light source. your vision adjusted much quicker now that there was a dim light flooding the cave and you noted all the little cracks in the wall, and something that looked suspiciously like writing that had faded out to the point of no return. hmm, this must be very old then.

...

what's that?

you looked over and saw something that looked like a kids toy— or plushie. you couldn't tell. your eyebrow furrowed and you walked over to pick it up off the ground.

"lord scaramouche, did lichung have any... children?" you asked, your eyes not leaving the little bunny plush. it had lint and dirt all over it, and it was barely recognizable as a bunny if it weren't for the long ears.
