Missing you (Kaneki x Touka)

She's back

Touka opened the coffee shop, so now the sign showed 'OPEN'. She had her Anteiku uniform on, and Kaneki was just getting changed. He had offered to help out with the coffee today because he felt like he had nothing to do. Touka was cleaning up the worktop whilst Kaneki came back and went around the counter. "It's been a while since I was here." He mumbled, remembering the last days working at Anteiku. When Jason came. He cringed at the thought and then turned to Touka. "What shall I d-" He was broken off by the bell on the door, meaning someone had opened the door. They both looked over, and saw a younger girl. "Hey big sis!" She called, a big smile on her face. Hinami. Touka gasped, a confused look on her face. "But.. Hinami? You were in a coma?" She questioned. Hinami nodded. "Yeah, I wanted to surprise you! I just came out of hospital this morning! And who's this?" She asked, pointing at Kaneki with a smile. "Is he your booyyyfriieenndd?" She teased. That caused Touka to blush slightly, but then shook her head. "N-No... That's Kaneki, Hinami." Hinami's eyes widened in disbelief. "Big brother. You have changed." She replied with a slight tilt of her head. Kaneki closed his eyes and smiled slightly, and looked down at Hinami. She sure had changed. "Hello, Hinami." He greeted her, and bent down to hug her. Hinami ran into his arms, and hugged him for a while until they let go. "How long were you in the coma for?" He asked. "I... I'm not sure." She replied, a dull look on her face. "But the nurses were quite surprised I got my consciousness back so soon. So not that long!" She added, and looked at Touka. She gave a smile and walked over to her, putting her hand on her back and walking her over to her old bedroom, as the young girl scanned the bedroom in awe. Everything was the same as before, nothing had changed. Kaneki soon followed them, and stood behind the two girls. "It's good to be back." Hinami said, glancing up at her 'big sis' and 'big bro'. They both nodded at the same time. "Why don't you play with your toys until I have my break?" Touka asked, grabbing a toy and giving it to Hinami. She shook her head rapidly and put it on the floor. "I want to read a book with big bro!" She beamed, a grin on her face and handing Kaneki a book. 'Lost worlds' it read on the cover. He gave a small chuckle, and then a nod. 'Alright. I'm sure Touka will be able to cover for the time being." He answered, blinking at Touka. She gave a small nod and strolled off, chuckling to herself. Kaneki turned to Hinami and sat down, examining the book. It looked quite a difficult book for a young girl like Hinami to read. But then he remembered that he was here to help her, and he smiled. "Okay big bro! Let's go!" She declared, opening the book. Then a puzzled look came over her face. "How do you read this word?" She asked already, only on the first sentence. Kaneki looked at the word her finger was pointing to and thought for a bit. "It says beginning." He spoke. Meanwhile, Touka was in the other room making coffee for Uta and practising her latte art. "So. Much happened lately?" He asked her, tapping his fingers on the table. Touka laughed slightly. "Lots." She replied, putting the spoon she was using to stir the coffee. "Kaneki and Hinami came back, which is honestly the best thing that's happened to me lately..." She replied, smiling. Uta's eyes widened. "Really? They're back..?" He questioned. Touka shook her head, a blank look on her face. "Nah. Just felt like saying that." Uta had a confused look on his face and frowned. "I wouldn't say they're back for no reason, dumbass!" She giggled, stepping outside of the counter and walked towards the bedroom, then knocked on the door. Hinami opened it, a book in her left hand, the door handle in the right. "Big sis! Kaneki and I were reading! Do you want to help me read now?" She asked innocently. Touka shook her head. "Not right now. You've a visitor, for both of you." She responded with a chirpy tone. This was unlike Touka. Usually she was quite snappy and quiet, but today she seemed a lot more happier, but it was probably because Kaneki and Hinami were both back; her two most valuable possessions. She then beckoned them into the main room where Uta was, who then greeting them with a friendly wave, and then got up and tilted his head at Hinami. "You sure have gotten taller, young one." He stated, fiddling with his lip piercing. He then moved onto Kaneki, the boy who he met a long time ago and was relied on to make him the perfect mask; which he did. Kaneki smiled slightly at his old friend.
"Hello, Uta." He greeted, putting his hand on Hinami's shoulder. Touka looked at them all with a small grin. "Well, I know I say it too much, but it really is great to be back." The girl spoke, sitting on the table and leaned to one side, bringing her purple hair over and showing her other eye. Touka usually didn't show her other eye under all the hair which was styled to cover it. But it suited her, so she stuck with it. After a while of chatting, Uta had to go, and gave them all a swift farewell, which was all returned by everyone else. The time was 6 o'clock now, just an hour away from closing time. Kaneki and Touka were still working whilst Hinami was left to read a book (An easier one)

Once the hour passed, it was time to close the coffee shop and get Hinami to bed. "Okay, Hinami." Touka spoke up, "Time for bed." Hinami gave a sigh, and then looked at Touka. "But I want to read more!" She complained, holding her book close to her chest. "Well you can read in bed for a bit." She replied, coming into her bedroom and sitting on her bed. Meanwhile, Kaneki was cleaning up the tables, and was finally finished with the job so he wanted some sleep so he walked to Hinami's room to see Touka. "Where do I sleep?" He asked, remembering last night; he pushed touka out of the bed and she slept on the floor. He giggled slightly to himself to then look up and see Touka's unamused face. "I'm not sure, but if you end up in my bed again you will not be pushing me out!" She groaned, getting up and strolling to her own bedroom, leaving Hinami. "Big bro, can you tuck me in?" She asked, followed by a yawn. He nodded and grabbed the blanket on Hinami's bed and put it on top of her and tucking her in. She smiled and closed her eyes. "Thank you!" She called out as he left the bedroom. As he approached Touka's room, he saw the door the shut, so he knocked. Then Touka gave a shout, "I'm getting changed you dork. Just wait a second." Which caused Kaneki to laugh. Once she was done, she opened the door and let him in. "You can sleep on the floor or my bed. Just dont kick me out during the night..." She sighed, grabbing a book and sitting on her bed. Kaneki nodded, and sat on the end of her bed. "Yeah, I am sorry about that." He replied, looking at the floor. Touka gave a small smile. "It's okay, dude. Don't worry about it." She responded and lifted the covers for him. "You're probably tired so you should sleep." The girl added with a yawn. Kaneki got up and shuffled over to the bed and laid down, covering himself in the covers and got comfortable. Touka was still reading her book, but then put it down to go to sleep herself. Reaching for the lamp, she said a final goodnight before lights out. Touka turned around and fell asleep, facing Kaneki which looked adorable. Several hours later, Kaneki woke up suddenly, but couldn't work out what caused him to awaken. He looked over at Touka to see she was on the edge of the bed, and would fall off if she stayed there. That was probably why he woke up; instinct. Being the kinder person, Kaneki put his arms around her and pulled her back into the bed, as she then snuggled into his arms and gave a small snore. Touka was so cute when she slept... Kaneki thought and chuckled, resting his chin on her head and closed his eyes. "I love you, Touka Chan." He whispered and he slowly fell back to sleep. Little did he know, the girl he loved was listening and she had a smile on her face. "I love you too."
