The van holding all four boys pulls in to the crime scene area following the car holding Paul, Lorelia and others. As soon as the car parks, Louis jerks on the handle of the car trying to get out, but he only finds that the child lock is on.
"Sorry boys, but Brooks has to mark the area as clear before you can get out" says the man driving them.
They all sit quietly in the car finally getting a good look at the wall that has a huge hole in it, three holes actually, right behind the bench they were sitting on. Niall reaches up and touches the spot on his head that's covered in a band-aid. Everybody knew that Niall was never the brave one. In certain ways he can be, like the kind of brave it takes to do a rather difficult dare, or to flirt with a girl you think is hot. He is definitly that kind of brave. But not the kind of brave that makes a person want to leave the safety of the van that they are currently in.
He watches along with the others as Lorelia, or Brooks, whatever they're supposed to call her gets out of the van she was in and stands there, as her head moves back and forth scanning the area.
They now have time to really look at her. She has curly red hair, that goes past her shoulders, but not much farther after that. She is wearing a black head to toe skin tight suit type thing, with a pair of combat boots on that are probably actually made for combat, not just fashion. She is also wearing a belt around her waist that holds several things, most likely guns and other weapons but they are difficult to see from the view the boys have. As she turns her head around and gives a sign to their driver, they see that she has on a dark pair of sunglasses blocking her eyes from the view of any others. She doesn't look very old but again it's hard to tell.
The driver unlocks their door and Louis immediately jumps out, while the others stay still. They only hesitate for a moment though before getting out of the car. Harry jogs to catch up with Louis, who is only a couple feet ahead, and Liam stays back with Niall. Liam puts a hand on Niall's shoulder because he knows that Niall is not having the easiest time with this.
Feeling Liam's hand on his shoulder even if it was only for a moment, helps him to feel better. It reminds him that he's not alone, no matter what happens.
They reach the bench they were sitting on only a couple hours ago and silently watch as Lorelia squats down and inspects the wall. They're other police officers swarming around the place, but most of them are trying to keep the paparazzi from coming to close to the scene. Lorelia quickly stands up and turns her head away from the wall, she then turns to the boys speaks in front of them for the first time.
"I know you don't want to, but I need you guys to sit down on the bench exactly where you were when the shots were fired".
They boys stare at her for a second until Louis breaks the silence.
"Why".
"It will help us to fully understand what happened" she answers vaguely.
The four of them reluctantly do as she asked and sit in the same spots as they had earlier.
"There are three different holes, and I need you to tell me which one happened first" she says sternly.
"How would we know" Louis talks back.
"Just explain to me what happened" she says.
When nobody says anything for a second, Liam speaks up.
"We were walking along that sidewalk, and then came to sit on the bench". She nods and waits for somebody else to keep going.
"We were sitting here for only a moment and I heard a noise of something, like it was flying right by my ear, then a peice of the wall just blew off" Louis says.
