Lorelai explained everything to them. Every little detail of of the crimes scenes and all the theories. The laughed a little bit at the fan theory, but Lorelai knew the laugh was pretty forced.

"So this isn't some kind of sick prank like you were hoping" Liam notes.

"No, it's not" Lorelai says glancing between each of them to see how they will take it.

Liam takes a deep breathe and nods, like he knew this was coming. Louis stares at the ground while Harry stares at him, and Niall has his eyes locked on the pictures behind her.

"So what's the next step then" Louis asks finally looking up.

"Well, you guys will continue learning self defense. For the case, we need to figure out how the UNSUB could have known where we are, and when Louis left the house. Whether there's a mole on the team, or a bug in the house we need to figure that out. Also, we need to start building a suspect list, but to do that, we need a profile of this guy".

"UNSUB" Liam asks not knowing what she means by that.

"What do you mean by a mole" Harry asks.

"And a profile" Louis adds.

Lorelai lets out a sigh. "You guys have a lot to learn".

"We call him the UNSUB" Lorelai said as she stands in front of a dry erase board writing 'UNSUB' on it. The four boys sit on the couch quietly watching and listening.

"It means Unknown Subject. It keeps you from calling the UNSUB 'he' or 'she' before you really know. When dealing with say, a serial killer, a lot of people will automatically assume it's  guy, and when they talk about the UNSUB they'll use 'him' or 'he'. Even if you didn't assume it was a guy and 'he' just kind of came out, subconsciously, you are ruling out all women as a suspect, and that can be dangerous. Even though women make up only 10% of the serial killer population, it can still be very dangerous to just assume it's a male."

"Well what do you think the UNSUB is" Harry asks.

"Did I not just tell you to never assume the gender" she says with her hands on her hips.

"Yeah yeah, but do you have a feeling" Harry continues to push.

"We'll just have to wait and see from the UNSUBs profile. Profiling is a system created by the FBI used to detect and classify the major personality and behavioral characteristics of an individual based upon analysis of the crime or crimes the person committed" Lorelai explains. "Now-".

"That makes no sense" Louis says.

"Based of the crime scene or victimology, you can find certain behavioral characteristics of your UNSUB, which can help to identify him, predict what he's going to do next, and find him".

"What's vic-" Harry starts.

"Victimology is the study of the victims of the crime. So if you had a serial killer who only killed blondes with blue eyes, and they are tortured and mutilated, you can assume that the killer is a sexual sadist and blondes and blued girls are his type. Maybe they remind the killer of someone they previously loved, or" before Lorelai goes on she stops herself and gets back on topic.

"Now the first step to profiling an UNSUB is to profile inputs. Which means to gather all the information you can possibly have from a crime scene. From the first crime scene where you guys were shot at, we have to where he shot from, where the bullets hit the wall behind you and a few witness testimonies. Unfortunately all the witnesses to busy running away to notice anything. Which while it sucks, it is a good thing that everyone got out of there in time for no one to get hurt.
