🌻Chapter 7🌻

Dele is such a chill guy. I discovered he was also from Port Harcourt, and he was actually studying commercial law while I was doing Human rights law. So our time table was quite different. After our first class, we met and walked to where we could buy something to eat before the next class started.

So far today was going smoothly, I was abit confused about what the lecturer was teaching maybe because I started late. But at the end of the class he informed us that our notes would be sent to us as PDFs through class rep. We had to write down our WhatsApp numbers and give it to him. I was relieved at least I'd start reading ahead.

"I had to write JAMB three times." He laughed shaking his head . "It wasn't funny. I got 271 first try, but I failed maths in waec so I had to write it again and I got 253. I wasn't satisfied so I tried the last Time and got 268 I'm not happy about it but I'm tired of writing so I just went along with this one."

" you're actually smart. I got 250 and I was very happy. My waec score boosted my chance of studying law." I replied as we got to the shop.

And Also because My dad has a lot of connections in Unilag.

" sha this year's freshers party go dope aswr. I been just Dey see fine babes up and down." I overheard a guy wearing a green shirt Saying to his friends

" Guy check am. See that girl, the one in black and white. She fine die." His dada haired friend nudged the boy. He turned to stare at me and our eyes met, i looked away quickly , shifting my weight from one leg to another feeling uncomfortable, I turned my attention back to the woman selling, the faster she attended to us the sooner we left here.

"No be lie o. I dey come ." He patted his friend and started walking our direction.

"Dele we should start heading back." I told the tall boy who was busy having a conversation with the sales lady. I grabbed his arm, he looked at me "Are you okay Ella?" He asked in concern. " I'm fine. Just thought we should be heading bac-"

I was cut off by the green shirt guy. I swallowed hard. He looks like a complete definition of trouble. I'm even surprised he hadn't dreaded his hair yet.

" You're even prettier up close." He smirked showcasing his 32.

Barf.

I forced a smile "Hi." Still refusing to let go off Dele. "Hwfar guy na your babe?" He asked turning to Dele.

"No-"

"Yes!" I quickly answered still maintaining my fake smile, not letting go of him. Dele looked at me with a confused look. I gave him a pleading look to just go ahead with this. I really had this bad vibe around this guy whoever he is .

The guy laughed. " I see. I'm Sebastian. What's your name beautiful?" He used his eyes to study me from head to toe. I felt like disappearing with the way he was looking at me . "Fine girl." He carried on.

"We need to start heading back now. We don't wanna be late for class again." Dele said saving me from this very very very awkward situation. I let out an audible sigh of relief. "Yes. You're right."

Sebastian ignored Dele. " You're new here right? I haven't seen you around."

Dele began dragging me away, the guy had the audacity to hold my wrist. I turned to look at him yanking my hand away. "You shouldn't be touching people without their permission." I spat angrily.

He shrugged bored. " You're quite headstrong. Sha, it's alright nothing I can't handle. I came to personally invite you to the freshers party this Saturday."

I scowled. " No thank you."

"You might stand a good chance of winning miss fresher. Trust me babe . You don't wanna miss it, I'm looking forward to seeing you. Don't fall my hand o Ella." with that he turned around and walked back to his friends who were busy grinning from ear to ear as if he had just won a bet.

Wait.... Did he just say my name?

By 5:40 I was done with my classes for the day. It wasn't as bad as I anticipated. I made a new friend and also got invited to a party. That I'm definitely going. Since it's a party hosted for the newbies it's sorta like a welcome into the school party, not a getting drunk and making out with a random stranger in the bushes kinda party so there's no harm in going.

Maybe I'll have the chance of making more friends.

I already called Dani and she said she would be here in a few minutes. Dele offered to keep me company before she came. "Are you going?" Dele asked referring to the party as he sat down besides me on a bench under the tree. I shrugged "Doesn't sound too bad. Are you?" I asked him. He thought for a while "I don't know my sister told me stuffs that happens at the freshers party night and it's not really.... Godly." He replied

I raised my brows at him. " oh? Well this year might be different."

Dele stared at me and shook his head. " I doubt. It'll just be an opportunity for those preying higher level guys to sleep with naive, vulnerable girls." I had a feeling he was talking about Sebastian.

" I don't just go around sleeping with boys. Excuse you." I retaliated getting offended .

" that's not what I meant Ella. I'm just saying if you're still bent on going just be careful and definitely not drink anything offered to you by anyone. It might be spiked." He lectured. I rolled my eye he's acting like my mom.

"What's spike?" I asked innocently.

He looked at me in surprise " Damn are you serious Ella. You don't know what spike is?"

I shrugged. " that's why I asked ."

" it means when someone puts an alcohol into your drink." He answered, " By the way, can I have your number ?"

"Sure," He handed his phone to me and I saved my contact. I brought out my phone to call Dani again and ask why was she taking so long to get here.

" you're using an iPhone 13?" He asked in shock, mouth agape as he stared at the phone in my hand. " Who are your parents?" He laughed nervously.

I shrugged. " It's just a phone. No biggie."

" That's my whole entire school fees of the semester in your hands." He replied, I was about to answer him when I saw Danielle from the distance. I stood up " that's my cousin over there." I Pointed at the light skinned girl approaching us.

" oh well I should be on my way, I'll chat you up." He had on a cute boyish grin, I chuckled " Looking forward to it." He waved at me and headed the opposite direction. I was smiling broadly until Dani was close to me.

" Bitvh you just started today and you already have a boyfriend." She teased, I laughed shaking my head "No, he's my new friend Dele." I turned to her "Today was fun. How was your day?" I asked. She let out a fake yawn "I didn't get to see Jameel today but I got his number!" She did a little happy dance.

I giggled as we began walking to the school gate so we could find a keke. "By the way did you hear about the freshers party this Saturday?" I asked, "yeah I heard about it, exciting huh? I already planned out what we're gonna wear."

" yeah. I got invited, can you believe it the guy said I might stand a chance of winning miss fresher." I said excitedly. Dani's smile quickly disappeared " Someone invited you?" I nodded " Exciting huh?" She gave me closed lip smile and looked away. "Very."
