Chapter 2- ComplicationsJulia's P.O.V.
I take a moment, trying to gather my thoughts. Kindness. Kindness is the best approach. So I give him my best smile.
"It's nice to meet you, Harry..." He smiles a little unevenly and nods.
I glance around at his arms that are still trapping me against the locker. He has a small smile, eyes following me. I clear my throat awkwardly, silently asking for him to let me by. He obviously understands, but ignores me.
"Excuse me..." I hedge quietly, looking down. He purses his lips, one eyebrow raising slightly.
"Hm?" He hums in reply. I lift my chin up a little.
"I need to get to my class..." I explain patiently, starting to duck under his arm.
I feel his warm hand grip my wrist, pulling me back. "Hey, hold on." He interjects.
Irritation bubbles up in me and I yank on my wrist.
"Quit it!" I snap.
His eyes widen a little in interest, smile growing as he takes a step or two back. "There we go. A bit of fire!" He says lightly, putting his hands up innocently. I grit my teeth, anger pulsing through me.
Is a second chance really worth the trouble? As I look back at him to see him smirking infuriatingly, the answer is clear:
No.
It isn't worth him.
I pause, looking down at my empty hands.
My stuff. I forgot my stuff.
I look back at Harry and he grins cheekily, raising one hand to wiggle his fingers mockingly at me. I force a smile and slowly walk back over.
"Excuse me..." I mumble, sliding between him and the locker, bending over to pick everything up. But when I stand back up, he hasn't budged. He's still standing a few mere inches from me.
"Can I help you?" I ask politely. He smiles and shakes his head, voice filled with amusement "Nope." I pause and nod, turning back to the locker.
He's still standing behind me. He doesn't move a muscle when I open the door. I struggle to pick up my backpack from the bottom of the locker, not bothering to put the books in nicely. I just want to get away from him.
I cram everything but one of my binders, my pencil bag, and schedule into the backpack, then turn to leave. He's still standing there with the stupid grin on his face.
I huff, slamming the locker and start to slip around him when I feel my schedule disappear from my arms. I look back in bewilderment, seeing Harry wave it in the air tauntingly.
"Please give me my schedule." I whine impatiently.
He grins, insisting "You want it, come and get it."
I sigh a little and reach for it. He twists out of reach and I frown. "Harry, please." I say angrily.
He shakes his head with a smile, holding it above his head. I'm barely under average height, but he's so much taller. Easily over six feet.
I huff in disbelief at his childishness, standing on my toes as I reach for it. He laughs, mocking me as he stands on his toes too, holding it just barely out of reach.
