the truth gnawed at him, and he couldn't ignore the sinking feeling in his gut.
later that evening, after work, spongebob decided he needed to confront shrek himself. determined, he started his journey of what might be the most terrifying journey of his life, his mind racing with a thousand thoughts.
the swamp was dimly lit, with the moonlight filtering through the thick vegetation. spongebob's nervousness was palpable as he approached the door of shrek's and now supposedly fiona's humble home. he raised his hand to knock but hesitated, his heart pounding.
but before he could knock, the door creaked open, revealing a disheveled and visibly surprised shrek. "well, if it ain't spongebob. what brings you to the swamp?"
"why, shrek?" spongebob cried out to the sea. "how could you betray fiona like this? and how could you betray our friendship?"

spongebob felt a crushing weight on his chest, the pain of betrayal and heartbreak tormenting at his very core. the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a shadow over bikini bottom as spongebob sat there, lost in dispair.
