< Third Person POV >
A few days had passed since the day in Berlin, and over this time, Y/N continued his job of interrupting Germany's work. Y/N, of course, had to secretly return the keys to Germany's office. He tried different strategies during these days—messing up the sorted documents, creating distractions by spending time together, which Y/N did the most. However, Y/N was careful not to make it too obvious, as he knew Germany would become suspicious if it happened too frequently. Sometimes, Y/N even genuinely helped Germany with certain tasks that didn't exceed his expertise, to maintain the illusion of being an always helpful and considerate guest.
On this cooler morning, as the sun gently illuminated the room, Germany found himself slowly waking up again in his comfortable bed. This time, unlike the last couple of days, he opened his eyes to an empty space, not with Y/N's familiar presence by his side. Germany had repeatedly, yet somewhat reluctantly, told Y/N to stop sleeping with him, considering it inappropriate for the two of them to share a bed. But no matter how many times he protested, Y/N persisted, determined to ensure that Germany wouldn't sneak off to work in the middle of the night, as he was often prone to do.
Despite Germany's outward objections, he couldn't deny the secret pleasure he felt in having someone close to him during the night. Y/N's warm and reassuring presence filled him with a sense of comfort and companionship that he hadn't experienced in a long time. The simple act of having someone to lay beside, sharing the same space, and feeling the warmth of another person's body nearby had slowly started to weave its way into his heart.
Although he valued his independence and took pride in his self-sufficiency, there was an undeniable allure in having someone care enough to stay by his side. It was a feeling that he had been avoiding for so long, but now, with Y/N in his life, Germany couldn't help but wonder if maybe, just maybe, he had been missing out on something special all this time.
As Germany swung his legs off the side of the bed and stood up, he stretched his back, earning a satisfying pop. The wooden floor creaked beneath each step as he made his way to the wardrobe to retrieve his clothes for the day. After getting dressed, he headed out and walked towards his office, looking forward to a small breakfast and some coffee there. However, as he walked through the halls, he noticed an unusual silence – no sounds of maids or butlers going about their usual tasks. It struck him as odd since it wasn't early enough for them to be absent. Curiosity got the better of him, and he decided to investigate. To his surprise, he found Y/N in the kitchen, proudly standing in front of a cooked breakfast. The warm aroma of the meal filled the air, and Y/N's bright smile greeted him.
"Good morning, Germany. How did you sleep?" Y/N greeted calmly as he put a cup of coffee on the table. "Good," Germany said, feeling a mix of surprise and gratitude at the breakfast prepared by Y/N. "Did you make all this? And if you did, how did you know how to use all the stuff in the kitchen?" Y/N let out a small, nervous laugh before answering, "Well, I observed the maids working in the kitchen, and today I wanted to try and help. Since they're not here, I took a shot at it myself." He decided to leave out the parts about the mess he made, as he had already cleaned up after himself, and there was no need to burden Germany with unnecessary details.
Germany perked up when he heard Y/N mention the maids and butlers not being here and decided to further question it. "So, you also don't know where the maids and butlers are?" He asked, taking a seat at the dining table and filling up a plate with the delicious breakfast meal that Y/N had prepared. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air, adding to the inviting atmosphere. "Nope," Y/N replied with a small nervous laugh, "except that I heard some chatter between two of them yesterday in the late evening. They mentioned something about having a day off today, but I didn't ask why since I thought you gave them one." With Y/N's answer, both men were left in confusion as they enjoyed their meal, wondering where the staff could have gone on an unplanned day off.
