— "WHAT WAS THAT, HIKARI-SAMA?" Daki hissed, her terracotta eyes narrowing. "Are you saying you'd rather fight as a human, on the human side?"
"Maybe I am. How would you know?" Hikari mutters.
"You can never be on the human side! You've been a demon for over a hundred years, you can't go back!" Daki exclaims. "You might as well use all your power against the Demon Slayers, since you will never amount to your ranking in that scrawny form of yours!"
"Are you insulting my disguise skills?" Hikari asks sarcastically.
"N-No! Of course not! I- I just meant..." Daki stuttered, suddenly fearful of Hikari.
Tanjiro stood confused, still holding his sword in front of him.
'What are they talking about?! Was Kyoudo-san really a demon this whole time?! There's no way... there's just no way!'
"If you really want me to use all of my power, you'll have to force me. And I won't let you do that, and taint this boy's vision of me. So bring it on!" Hikari looked up, removing her blindfold and grinning.
She leapt forward, unleashing a powerful slash and cutting Daki across her face. Daki sent her obi belts towards Hikari, but she easily dodged them and sliced them to pieces.
"Come on! Don't use your stupid Breathing Styles! I've seen enough of them over the years! Do something interesting!" Daki yells.
'I have to help Kyoudo-san! I can't always be the one being saved, I showed up to help him in the first place! Come on, Tanjiro, move! Move, move, move! Do something!'
Tanjiro followed Hikari in suit, raising his blade.
"Hinokami Kagura... Fire Wheel!" he yelled, only just missing Daki. Hikari, however, wasn't quick enough to get out of the way, and her hand caught fire.
"Shit!" she whispered under her breath, jumping to the side and attempting to put out the flame.
"You're so slow." Daki rolls her eyes at Tanjiro, hitting him with an obi and sending him flying. The Upper Rank then turned to Hikari, laughing mockingly.
"How sad!" she remarked. "You may be disguised, but you're still a demon... you'll still get burned no matter what you do!"
Hikari gritted her teeth and stopped trying to put out the flame on her hand, re-gripping her blade and slashing Daki's face in half with another Sky Breathing technique. As Daki regenerated, Tanjiro reappeared and burned her obi belts with Hinokami Kagura which caused Hikari to back away a second time.
