(This takes place sometime during the timeline of Secrets of an Alchemist. Varian finally trusted Cassandra enough to trust her when she made him a promise. She broke it.)
"Varian!" Cassandra yelled, chasing after him. "Please, Varian! I didn't-"
"What?!?" Varian snapped angrily, whirling to face her. His eyes had a slight ghostly blue tint to them. "You didn't what, Cassandra?!? You did exactly what Rapunzel did! I trusted you!" He turned his back to her, his voice lowering. "And I regret it." Cassandra stumbled backwards slightly with a small gasp. Varian looked at her guiltily out of the corner of his eye. Then, his resolved cracked and he dropped his head into his hands, eyes fading back to their normal color. "What am I doing?!?" He began shaking. Cassandra came over to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. "I-I'm sorry C-Cassie..." he stuttered.
"No, I'm the one who should be sorry, Var," Cassandra said. "I'm the one who broke my promise." Varian looked up at her, wiping his face.
"I guess we both have things we need to work on?" He offered. Cassandra smiled.
"Yeah," she agreed. Varian smiled at her and walked back to the caravan.
But... what was up with his eyes?
(Sorry it's so short, I lost motivation.)
