Imagine you live with Sherlock Holmes and John Watson but have been keeping two very big secrets from them.

********

You had two secrets that you hoped your two roommates wouldn't find out. Although one of them, knowing him, probably already knew your biggest secret. But this second secret was something you hoped to keep to yourself for the time being and considering it had to do with the affairs of the heart, something one particular roommate was at an utter loss and none the wiser to, you hoped it would remain that way. You made your way out of your bedroom, checking your clutch to make sure you had everything you needed, when the violin music playing in the living room abruptly stopped.

"What are you wearing?"

You looked up to see both your roommates sitting in their designated chairs. One not paying attention to anything but his computer screen and the other with a look of utter shock on his face. You looked down at your outfit.

"A dress?" you said as more of a question than an answer, confused as to why he was asking you why you were wearing such a thing.

"But girls wear dresses," he replied.

You rolled your eyes, "Well, I am a girl, or did the great Sherlock Holmes fail to deduce that?"

You heard John snort at your response, his gaze never leaving his computer screen. Sherlock huffed.

"I'm well aware that you are a girl, but you never dress like a girl."

You raised an eyebrow, "Since when do you pay attention to how I dress? I could walk in here in my underwear and you would never be the wiser."

John choked on his tea as you said that, coughing and sputtering all over himself. You pointed to him.

"Okay, John would notice that, but you my dear Holmes wouldn't give me the time of day. Why is this," you say gesturing to your outfit, "suddenly so eye catching to you?"

Sherlock sat for a moment, taking in your appearance. You could tell he was in his mind palace. You rolled your eyes, crossing your arms across your chest, and tapped your foot as you impatiently waited for him to answer. Looking at the time on your phone, you grabbed your key.

"I don't have time for this. I won't be late," you said as you kissed John on the cheek and made your way out the door.

"Have fun," John called out as he continued to type on his computer.

Sherlock suddenly jumped up out of his chair, grabbing his coat and scarf.

"Where do you think you're going?" asked John, annoyed.

"She's going on a date John! (Y/N) never goes on dates."

John sighed as he closed his laptop, "Sherlock, (Y/N) is a grown woman. She is allowed to go on dates and you are not going to follow her!"

"He could be a sociopath!" Sherlock exclaimed as he made his way out the door.

John cursed to himself as he got up from his chair, chasing after his friend. "She's not dating you Sherlock!" he called out as he ran down the stairs.

You smoothed out your dress before you entered the restaurant, smiling when you saw your date stand up at the table he was sitting at. You gave each other a chaste kiss on the cheek as he pulled your chair out for you and sat across the table.

"I'm so sorry I'm late," you said as you placed your napkin on your lap.

He shook his head. "Don't worry about it. I went ahead and ordered you a drink," he said as the waiter made his way over, delivering said drink.
