Imagine you were meant to be with Loki, only for Odin to keep you two apart.
********
It had been a month since Loki had returned to Asgard after trying to take over Midgard. He wanted to tell his brother what had actually happened, but his pride always got the better of him. Thor would visit him as often as he could and had been working on trying to get Odin to release Loki, or at least shorten his sentence. Thor knew his brother could be mischievous and conniving, but he also knew there was still good in him.
Loki, however, had other things on his mind. It had been almost a year since he had seen you, his queen, the woman who had the same marking on your left wrist as him; the woman he would conquer all nine realms for. You were all he ever thought about. He worried about your safety, even more so after the Mad Titan had threatened to use you against him if he did not follow through with the plan. In fact, you were one of the only reasons why Loki agreed to do the Titan's bidding. He had promised Loki kingship over Midgard and allow him to make you his Queen.
Thor knew how important you were and the bond that his brother had with you. When Thor was not busy trying to convince Odin to release Loki, he was scouring all over Asgard looking for you. Even their mother, Queen Frigga, knew the importance of finding you and that you were the key to ensuring that Loki was not only happy, but out of trouble. Odin, on the other hand, did not approve of you or your relationship with Loki.
Even when Frigga tried to explain to him what the markings on yours and Loki's wrists meant, Odin declared that the idea of a soulmate, let alone a twin flame, was nothing more than an old wives' tale that his youngest son used as an excuse to try and get his way.
When Loki had fallen off the rainbow bridge into the black abyss, his hope was that his love would escape and leave Asgard, away from his father and his cruel ways. But he would quickly find out that you had not escaped, and Odin had other plans for you.
Thor had received word that day that Odin had made a decision regarding his requests in releasing Loki. Odin told Thor and the rest of the court that Loki was to return to Midgard where he would serve his sentence and make amends for what he had done. With the uproar of some of the court at the fact that Odin would release the dark prince, Odin ensured them that another would serve Loki's sentence in the dungeons of the palace.
Thor did not dare ask who would replace his brother in a cell, but instead hurried to the dungeons to quickly get his brother to Midgard before Odin changed his mind. Thor found his brother sitting in his cell, reading a book.
"Come brother, we must hurry." Thor said as he went to get a guard to open the cell.
"Are you breaking me out?" Loki asked in amusement.
Thor smiled, "Father has changed your sentence. He is allowing you to serve your time on Midgard and make amends for your actions. I recommend we go now before he changes his mind."
Loki rolled his eyes, "Midgard? Really?"
"Would you prefer to stay here in a cell till you die?" asked Thor. Loki sighed and pursed his lips. "I thought not," replied Thor.
As a guard began opening the cell for Loki, a group of guards came walking through, dragging someone between them. It was not until they began tossing the unconscious person into the cell next to Loki's that he noticed the (Y/H/L) (Y/H/C) hair and green dress the woman was wearing. As they removed the shackles from her wrists, he saw the marking on her left wrist.
"(Y/N)?" Loki asked. He rushed over to the cell, trying to push the guards out of the way. "(Y/N)!" he yelled, pounding on the cell wall.
Thor, realizing what was happening, rushed over and grabbed a guard. "What is the meaning of this? Why have you imprisoned her?"
