Chapter 45

Elenas Pov
The next day, I woke up, and I put my hand on my stomach. And then it hits me again. There's no baby there anymore....he's gone. I look over at Pedri and see he is fast asleep. I kiss his head and climb out of bed, and walk into the bathroom. Pedri woke up and just watched me but didn't move.
I look at myself in the mirror and see that I look a mess. Mascara is all down my face. And I still have make up on from yesterday. I open the drawer, trying to find my makeup remover. I take it out, and then I see them. The pregnancy tests. I pick them up, and I scream, throwing them across the room. I slide down the wall and cry.
Pedri gets up and rushes over to me and picks me up. "Hey, what happened...." He said, and he looks at sees the tests. "Oh mi princesa...." He said and rubbed my back. I cry into his chest, and he carries me into the bedroom. He places me down on the bed and lies down. I cuddle into his chest, and I continue to cry. He strokes my hair and kisses my forehead. "It's okay princess let it all out...." He whispers, and tears form in his eyes too. It's hard for him to see you like this, but he's also struggling, and he just can't comprehend how we lost him. I look up at him, and I wipe his tears. He cups my cheeks and wipes mine, too. "I love you..." He whispers, and I peck his lips. "I love you too...." He kisses me softly and then gets up and goes to the bathroom. He picks up the tests and looks at them. He then sighs and throws them in the bin. He grabs the makeup remover and cotton pads. He comes over and sits in front of me. I look at him and smile. "Come here." He said, and I moved closer to him. He wets the cotton pad and then starts to remove my makeup. I smile at him as he does it. He gets another one and asks me to close my eyes as he takes off the old mascara. When he's done, he kisses me softly, and I smile. "So beautiful....." He whispers, stroking my cheek. I smile at him. "You're so cutee....." I whisper, and I peck his lips.
I lie down, and he climbs over and lies his head on my chest. I smile and play with his hair. "How are you feeling? I know you've been so worried about me, but I wanna make sure you're okay too, Pepi...." He just stays lying on my chest. "It's hard......I just don't understand cause he was fine a few days ago....and then he just stopped moving and breathing all so fast. And I wonder why us why can't we just be happy you know...." He said, and I nodded, kissing his head. I push the hair out of his face. "I know Pepi......I feel the same way. I don't understand any of this either. " I whisper. He leans up and kisses me softly. "We will get through this as long as we have each other." He said, and I smiled and nodded. "Always." I linked our fingers again, and he smiles. "Can we go back to sleep?"I ask, and he nods. We lay down properly, and I cuddled into him this time. He kisses my head. And I smile. We both fall asleep again.

Pedris Pov
I wake up, and I look over and see Elena sleeping peacefully. I decided to leave her be because I knew if she woke up, everything would just hit her again. I hear a knock on the door downstairs. I slowly get up without waking her. I kiss her head and push hair out of her face, and I walk downstairs.
I open the door and see Pablo standing there. "Hey man....I brought some food." He said, showing me the bags. I smile. "Thanks, Pablo...." He comes in and puts them down and then hugs me. I hug him back and sigh.
We go into the kitchen and dish up the food. I leave Elenas in the oven to keep warm.
He looks at me. "Where is she?" He asked, and I sighed. "Sleeping.....she a mess. It's hard to see her like this...." I looked down, and Pablo looked at me sympathetically. "How are you feeling, Pedri?" He asked, and I looked at him. "It hurts Pablo......the fact I'm never gonna get to meet my baby boy......he's just gone...." I started to cry, and Pablo came over and hugged me. "Just let it out....." I cry into his shoulder, and he just looks down at me. "I don't understand how this could happen to two special people...." He said, and I looked at him. "Probably cause what we did to you....its karma...." I looked down, and he looked at me. "Pedri, don't say that.....its not true.....it happened so long ago and if I forgave you! So can the universe, so don't ever think that's the reason why." He said and tapped my back. "Thanks Pablito " I said and he smiled.
We just sat and ate in silence for a bit, and then I heard footsteps. I look at the stairs and see Elena coming down. "Pepi...." She said, and I got up and walked over to her. "You okay?" I ask, and she nods and hugs me. "I just didn't know where you were...." She whispers, and I nod. "I'm right here...." I kiss her head, and we walk into the kitchen. "Hey Elena...." Pablo said, and she smiles a little. "Hi Pablo...." She hugs him and then sits down. "Pablo brought food you want some?" I ask her, and she shakes her head. "I'm not hungry......" She said, and I sighed. "Elena, you need to eat something...." I tell her, and she looks at me. "I said I'm not hungry! " She snaps and gets up and makes herself some coffee. I sigh, and Pablo looks at me. "She'll be fine... Don't worry." He said, and I nodded. "I know....." I watched as she walked into the living room and sat down on the couch. "Do you want me to go?" Pablo asks, and I shake my head. "Nah, stay, we can play fifa or something." I said, and he nodded. I go over to Elena, and I bend down beside her. "I'm gonna play fifa with Gavi in the game room. Just call me if you need me...." I said, and she nodded. I kissed her head, and I left her alone.
