The tension in the air was almost electric as no one dared to speak up first. Both parties were observing each other carefully, trying to figure out how best to approach this situation, not trusting their opposite in the slightest. Hange on the other hand seemed oblivious to what was going on and just hung their arm around the female next to them.

"See I told you she isn't a threat. I'm sure she can answer your questions way better than me." The brunette grinned, earning an eye roll from Levi. No threat at all? Sure. I bet she could flip four eyes over without struggle, after all, she is responsible for one soldier's death already.

That's when Erwin relaxed and let a small smile play on his lips, which was so clearly disingenuous that the girl was confused as to why the man would even bother doing it in the first place.

"Well that is good to hear, but let's get to know each other a bit first, shall we? My name is Erwin Smith and I am the commander of the scout regiment. May I ask for your name as well, young lady?" the blond asked, clearly testing the waters, of how willing the stranger was to cooperate. For the first time, the other's eyes darted away, declaring Erwin the winner of their unofficial staring contest.

Her brown furrowed, as she appeared to lose herself in her thoughts, completely forgetting she was technically talking to another human being. Still, her posture remained the same and still permitted an aura of danger.

"I don't think I can give you an answer to that question, Commander Smith," she concluded returning back to reality and also fixating her eyes back onto the person towering in front of her, who had never once let his eyes wander around.

"And why may that be?" Erwin asked further, just to make sure his suspicion was correct. It could've been her not trusting them enough to disclose her name and consequently give them a way of finding an identity, she might want to keep hidden, but based on her reaction the blonde had a different theory. After all, she could've just given them a fake name, but instead she just plain refused to say anything.

Erwin's suspicion was confirmed by the girl's next answer.

"I don't think I have a name, Sir. At least none I would remember." At that Hange finally let go of her and let out a shocked sound, gabbing the girl's shoulders and shaking her lightly.

"Whaaat?! You don't even know your own name?" they asked, already starting to ramble on, about how that didn't make any sense, and that she had to have parents at some point, and so on until Erwin interrupted them again.

"How long have you lived here?" he asked, again wanting to confirm a new suspicion he'd had about this entire situation. He was really intrigued by the girl and wanted to find out as much as possible because if he was right, this could be a huge revelation.

"Let's go for a small walk, shall we." the girl proposed, instead of directly answering the question. She already turned around stepping toward the edge of the branch, when Levi spoke up, stopping her.

"Why would we follow you? For all we know, you are just going to lead us into an early grave." The girl's back was still facing them, not turning around, as she spoke up, calmly answering the question.

"I'm not forcing you into anything. You are free to do whatever you want. I merely gave you the opportunity to find the answers to your questions." Her tone was indifferent and she underlined her statement by shrugging, once and then stepping off the branch and making her way towards the ground. Levi didn't move, being sure that this would be a terrible idea only an idiot would go along with, just to promptly be reminded, that he was in fact in the presence of an idiot.

"Well, I'm not letting that opportunity pass. See you, when I see you." Hange said as she followed behind without a second thought. Levi was about to cuss her out again when to his surprise Erwin started moving as well.
