Jayfeather sat with his tail intertwined with Briarlight’s. “Smokekit and Fawnkit, please step forward,” Bramblestar purred. Fawnkit’s blue eyes were full of worry and excitement, while Smokekit was practically bouncing on his paws as he ran forward.
He turned to Smokekit first. “Smokekit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Smokepaw. Your mentor will be Squirrelflight. I hope Squirrelflight will pass down all she knows on to you.” he turned his head to his deputy and mate. “Squirrelflight, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You have received excellent training from Dustpelt, and you have shown yourself to be Courageous and Determined. You will be the mentor of Smokepaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to Smokepaw.”
Squirrelflight touched noses with her new apprentice. Then Bramblestar turned to Fawnkit. “Fawnkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Fawnpaw. Your mentor will be Spiderleg. I hope Spiderleg will pass down all he knows on to you.” He beckoned the black and brown warrior forward.
“Spiderleg, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You have received excellent training from Mousefur, and you have shown yourself to be Courageous and enthusiastic. You will be the mentor of Fawnpaw, and I expect you to pass on all you know to her.”
As they touched noses, the Clan cheered. “Smokepaw! Fawnpaw!”
