Chapter 5 – Leah's POV
Another day, another match. Again a home game which is always an advantage! West Ham a London Derby.
We start the match strong, just not being able to break past their defence. Half time comes and we recharge and head back out. Before the whistle blows I take a look around just to see a jam packed Boreham Wood and nod to myself, this THIS is what female football is about. It makes me incredibly proud. We finish the game 1-0 another win another 3 points!
After our team talk we walk around the pitch again waving, signing shirts and taking selfies.
I look around a group of girls I'm taking selfies with just to see how many other people are waiting I see about 10 more people waiting, that's fine it won't take long and at the back just behind them I see a familiar face talking once again with Tom.
20minutes later after plenty of meeting and greeting I make my way to the barrier just in front of Tom and the familiar face.
"Do you want a picture?" I laughed. She stepped forward.
"Hahahaha this feels like déjà vu"
"It does! Would you like another picture?"
"I have the picture from last week it's okay!"
"You sure?"
"Would you mind?" she blushed.
"This could be a tradition!" I joked, She looked in her bag and grabbed her phone, she looked like she was struggling with her hot drink in her hand I said "I can take the selfie if you want?"
"Would you mind?" she asked
"Of course not, pass it over" I held her phone and took a few snaps.
"My family are going to love these pictures".
"Did you send that last selfie to them?"
"Oh absolutely, biggest Arsenal fans!"
"Oh really, shall I record a video for them?"
"Would you?!" I heard her ask before she could finish what she was saying I had turned around and started a video.
"Hi, family chat! it's Leah Williamson from Arsenal Ladies. I'm here at Boreham Wood Ground we've just played West Ham and won! Come on the Gunners! I hope to see you all at a match soon!"
I passed the phone back to her.
"They're going to go crazy for that, thank you so much!"
"No worries, have you been busy with work this week?"
"It's been really excit-" Kelsey, one of our assistant coaches called out
"Leah it's time to go".
"Give me a second!" I shouted "Carry on, you were saying works been exciting, what's going on?"
"Oh nothing, just a lot of new clients I've been given but yeah just very busy!"
"That's great, I'm sure they're lucky to have you".
"Hahaha I hope I do a good job for them, anyway I shouldn't keep you!"
"I'm sure you will, oh don't worry I'm only going home to go and lie in bed and binge Netflix".
"Hahah same, I can't get enough of Selling Sunset"
"That's what I'm watching too! How funny is that" I exclaimed.
"No way, telepathic"
"Well nice to see you again"
"Yeah you too, thank for the pictures and video and chat again!"
"No worries, thanks for coming" I waved before heading back to the changing room.
As I reached the door I turned around and saw her heading to the exit I shouted.
"Same as last week yeah, tag me on Instagram!" Before stepping into the changing rooms.
"Williamsonnnnnn!" I heard an Irish voice behind me as I packed my bag up ready to go home and sleep.
"McCabeee" I reiterated.
"Good game today, see you Tuesday!"
We had a day off and then back to training.
But now off home and most importantly off to bed!
