Chapter 28 – Leah's POV
It had been a few days since I'd seen Jules. We had such a great evening, I haven't had an evening like that in a while, life had been hectic lately.
My phone rings and I look down to see the name *Grace*. Grace is an artist that I recently met at an event and we just kind of hit it off she's new and upcoming in the music industry.
"Hey" I answer.
"Hey babe, how are you?"
"Good thanks, how are you?"
"Yeah, good thanks super busy with lots coming up soon! Anyway, I was just calling to invite you round for dinner I'm having a girly dinner Saturday evening and wondered if you wanted to come?"
"This Saturday?" I ask, I was thinking of seeing if Jules was free to meet up.
"Yes babe, I'll send you all the deets!" she says.
"Can I bring someone?" I ask.
"Uhhh, who do you want to bring?"
"Just a friend, I was going to see them anyway that night so would it be okay if I brought her".
"Uh I mean sure okay; I'll talk to you later" and she hangs up abruptly. That was weird, I shrug it off before sending a text to Jules.
Me – Hey, short notice but are you free tomorrow night? A friend of mine is having a dinner party and I wondered if you wanted to join.
I close my phone up before heading to the gym for some conditioning seeing a certain Irish woman.
"McCabe how are you?" Katie turns to me with a smirk.
"Well hello to you, I didn't know what happened to you"?
"Sorry I got preoccupied" Katie's lips stretch into a smirk.
"Oh, it was that sort of night, was it?"
"No, I didn't mean it like that get you head out of the gutter" I laugh.
"Mmmmm okay well Rue and I were betting that you kissed".
"Well, you both lost because we didn't"
"Damn really"
"Yes really"
"For any particular reason?"
"It just wasn't that sort of evening we were just getting to know each other, that's it".
Katie purses her lips before saying.
"But you wanted something more?"
"I don't know I feel like I don't want to ruin the friendship because I really like that side of it".
"Would you risk it? Or not?"
"Eurghhh Katie, I don't know maybe".
"When are you seeing her next or you don't know?"
"Well, I invited her to Grace's tomorrow night so will see her response" I say before we head out to the pitch to training.
