Chapter 10 – Leah's POV

My managers and I were sat in the conference room where the meeting had just taken place with April the CEO of the business and Tessa.

"So, how did you find that meeting to be?" April asked us.

"It was great, the idea of staying within Leah's knowledge and interests is definitely something we think is important to stick t-" Natalie said before being interrupted.

"Yes absolutely so do we!" Tessa interrupted smiling over at me. Okay that's weird.

"What would be the next steps from your side?" Leanne asked.

"We would start reaching out to our contacts and see what becomes available"? Tessa says shooting a very toothy smile.

I look at my manager with an unsure look on her face before I lean over and ask if we can have a quick word by ourselves.

"Would it be possible for us to have a quick conversation just us three?" Leanne asks.

"Of course, it is, we will be back in 5 minutes" April says standing up from the table walking out the door, Tessa following her every move. Natalie and Leanne turn to me.

"So, what are you thinking?" Natalie asks me.

"Honestly, I don't feel like this Tessa girl is a right fit for me. I don't think she understands much about me and what I need".

"What do you need Leah" Natalie says. I sit and think for a minute before saying.

"I need someone who understands the business and how to work with this sudden rise to being a known athlete."

"Well, we have two other Social Agency's we can visit before we make up our mind".

"No, there's no reason to do that, this is the right place for us to be". I stated.

"But?" Leanne asks.

"But I think the girl Jules who suggested it should be the person we're working with".

"Yeah, I liked her understanding of you and what the next steps should be, we'll sort this out" Leanne nodded.

We sat waiting for a few minutes before the door opened and April and Tessa returned. Sitting down opposite us with big smiles on their faces.

"Thank you so much for seeing us today, we do have one or two questions that we would just like to clear up if that's okay" Natalie said.

"Of course, please do go ahead" April said nodding.

"Whilst what you suggested before in and around reaching possible links for Leah is very interesting. We felt like the girl, Jules I think her name was, really understood the brief that we were looking for and really understood Leah. We were wondering if we could have her work on this with us?" Natalie asked, I bit my lip nervous to hear the reply.

"Uh well, that's just not possible" Tessa said, almost annoyed.

"I think what Tessa means is, Jules is currently full of clients and doesn't have any more space. Whilst Jules has great knowledge, Tessa has a lot more experience and I think can fit in with what you're looking for and I myself will be overlooking everything."

"Okay, well thank you for today, we shall be in contact" Natalie says before hastily standing up, myself and Leanne following suit.

"Wait, wait, wait, there's no need to rush! Why don't we talk about this! Let me grab Jules and see what we can do? Please do take a seat, Tessa if you wouldn't mind going and fetching Jules for me" A scowl presented Tessa's face before she turned and left.
