"Cinnamon in my teeth from your kiss,"
The sound of Lana Del Rey's voice played through Sophie's speaker. Sophie got home ate her dinner and decided to shower. She was shocked that no one was home. Rarely did her parents go out on week nights due to work and Dacre well he was grounded so he wasn't allowed to go out but when did Dacre ever follow the rules.
Sophie heard the front door open. Someone was home, Sophie didn't really care she just planned on going to bed after her shower. The water was starting to get cold and she realized she had been in there for too long.
"Crap!" Sophie tripped over the edge of her shower. She always tripped its like it moved everytime she went to get out.
"Soph! You ok in there?" She heard the rushing footsteps of her stepbrother. She let out a scream as the doornob started turning.
"DONT OPEN THE DOOR!" She screamed out she didn't need her stepbrother seeing everything. "I'm not wearing anything!"
"Oh shit sorry Saffi." Dacre backed away.
"Hmmmm, that would be a very interesting sight." A new voice joined the conversation. Something about his voice sounded familiar to Sophie.
"Don't be weird man." Dacre slapped his shoulder.
"Oh please like I'd want to see that. I doubt shes changed at all. I bet she still looks like a gross nerd." It finally hit Sophie. Axton was outside her bathroom door.
Dacre burst out laughing. "You have no idea." Sophie heard their footsteps get quieter. Once she couldn't hear them any longer she stepped out of the bathroom wearing her favorite hoodie and a pair of joggers. She walked across the hall to her room.
Her room was small, but she didn't mind she quite liked it that way. Her room was messy with clothes all over the floor. Her grey walls were covered in various pictures and posters. She even had a painting Chloe painted her for her birthday. It was a painting of Sophie's bearded dragon, Clementine, she died a few years back.
Sophie plugged her phone in and tossed it onto her desk that sat under her window. Sophie pulled her curtains shut. She didn't like the sun shining in her room in the morning. She flopped down onto her bed. Her bed was a full bed, just the matress, she liked her matress just being on the floor. She didn't have a nightstand so anything she need by her bed she just left on her desk.
Sophie cuddled into her blankets trying to fall asleep. She was exhausted from tryouts. Her coach was a lot harder in them this year. She was really pushing them with the amount of conditioning she forced them to do. Sophie new she was going to be sore the next day. Luckily it would be a friday that meant late start and Sophie would get to sleep in another hour.

"Holy fu-" Dacre covered Sophie's mouth before she could finish her sentence."Sorry didn't mean to scare you." He paused "Actually I'm not sorry, I just wanted to see how tryouts went."
"You could've done that without jumping on top of me and waking me up at SEVEN in the morning you jerk!" Sophie slapped Dacre's shoulder. "Its my one day to sleep in."
Dacre groaned as Sophie shoved him off her bed so she could go back to sleep. He started shaking her shoulder deciding she had enough sleep. Sophie just ignored him. She was tired and sore. Her body ached it wasnt often she was sore but whenever she was, she tended to be even more dramatic than usual. Her door slamed shut signaling that Dacre had given up and left. A small smirk adorned her face knowing she had won and slowly started drifting back to sleep.

"Hey, Saffi!" Chloe held the last vowel of her name while jumping up onto their lunch table as Sophie came walking in. Ellie yanked Chloe back into her seat as people gave the girls looks.
"Don't climb on the table Smithey its gross and people have to eat here." Ellie gave Chloe her typical mom look. Ellie was definitely the mom of the group. Sophie laughed as she sat down watching the two's glare off.
"How's it going ladies?" Dacre and Axton spoke at the same time while sitting down. Sophie rolled her eyes at Axton's presence.
"Aww Dacre finally got yourself a boyfriend?"
"Shut it Marti." Dacre snapped.
Axton gasped "You don't love me?" Dacre turned his glare from Ellie to Axton.
"Go away annoying boys. That way I can scope out the lovely cheerleaders and both of you are in my way." Chloe jokingly waved her hand dismissing them. Sophie smirked joining in.
"Yeah go away annoying boys." Thats when she made eye contact with him. She had been avoiding looking at him. They weren't friends they were never friends and she sure as hell didn't want to change that now.
"Well if it isn't little miss Sophie." He let out a short laugh. "You look different." Sophie scoffed.
"No shit Sherlock Holmes." she rolled her eyes.
"Calm down, donald duck jeez."
"Saffi be nice." Ellie scolded. She looked to Axton and introduced herself and Chloe.
"I would definitely paint her like one of Jack's french girls."
"Oh my gosh Chloe!" Ellie scolded her for the second time. Axton and Dacre laughed at Chloe's daydreaming. While Sophie just glared in Axton's direction. Good news was Sophie wouldnt have to deal with him in class or at practice. She just hoped he wouldn't eat lunch with her and her friends everyday. He definitely would sit with Dacre and the lacrosse guys when Dacre did, or at least she hoped he would.
The bell rang ending lunch. Sophie headed to her last class of the day creative writing. Sophie loved writing, she used to sit and write haikus, poems and short stories. Sophie was currently working on her new assignment for the class when she realized someone had sat down next to her. She looked to her left and rolled her eyes annoyed.
"Don't sit next to me Axton." Her tone full of ice.
"Why not?"
"Because I don't like you." She put her earbuds in so she wouldn't have to keep talking to him. Axton noticed what she was doing. He took one of her earbuds and stuck it in his own ear.
"So you didn't miss me?"
"Nope." Sophie turned back to her writing. Trying to ignore the boy sitting next to her.
"Awe you totally missed me." He laughed. Her silence caused Axton's smile to drop. He was used to getting a rise out of the girl. She rarely ever just ignored him. She really had changed. And Axton was excited to figure out who this new person was.
