*Warning JAY WALKER *
If there was one person Sophie hated more than Axton Wood, it was Jay Walker. Jay was an intolerable jerk, Sophie just wished she realized that sooner. She and Jay dated for a while her junior year, and she finally broke up with at the end of the year once she realized how awful he truly was. Pushing the elderly down the stairs was a major red flag, and a total deal breaker for Sophie. Over the summer Jay would not leave her alone he kept begging her to take him back, so when he walked into her eighth period thirty minutes late, she was grateful Axton had chosen to sit next to her otherwise the rest of this semester was going to be torture.
Seeing as the seat next to Sophie was taken, Jay chose to sit in front of her. Her whole body went stiff as soon as he made eye contact with her. He winked at her causing her to shift her gaze to her paper immediately. Axton happened to notice Sophie's discomfort, and he didn't like it one bit. He wasn't sure why it bothered him to see her uncomfortable, they weren't friends, and she didn't even like him, it still bothered him, nonetheless. To his surprise he found himself writing and passing a note to Sophie.
Sophie was confused when she picked up the note. 'You, ok?' His penmanship was messy but still readable and nice in its own way. Sophie all though confused by Axton's gesture scribbled down an answer and passed the note back.
'I will be' Axton nodded at her response.
When the bell rang signaling the end of class Sophie quickly packed up and rushed out of class headed and sprinted to her car not realizing she forgot to get her other earbud back from Axton. She was determined to leave before Jay stopped her no doubt to try and get her to take him back. She was sick of how desperate he was. She was sick of him entirely.

Axton tried to stop Sophie from leaving but she was out the door in seconds, "Damnit, she left her earbud."
"Oh, I could get it back to her don't worry about it man." The guy who walked in late to class spoke. Axton had never met this man before; he got a weird vibe from him especially after watching how Sophie got physically uncomfortable when he sat down.
"Ah, nah man I'll just give it to her stepbrother-" Axton started to walk off, "Thanks for the offer though." Axton rushed out trying to catch up with Sophie.
As soon as Axton was outside the classroom door, he could hear the weird guy rushing after him. Axton started to walk faster trying to get into a crowd before Jay could catch up to him. Ignoring his shouts Axton continued to walk faster. Dodging people left and right trying to put as much space between him and Jay.
Axton made it out to the parking lot hoping he lost his strange classmate. Axton searched for her car in hopes Sophie hadn't left yet.
After a couple of minutes, Axton assumed she had left, and it was too late. Axton let out a frustrated sigh, he needed to know that Sophie was okay, and he wanted to be the one to give her earbud back. Not understanding why he cares, he never had before, but something in him felt different since he last saw her all those years ago.
"Whew, damn man you sure are fast." Jay had finally caught up to him. "I didn't get the chance to get to introduce myself earlier. I'm Jay-" the weird guy stuck his hand out, "I'm Sophie's boyfriend, really I can give her, her earbud back."
Axton just stared at Jay, not bothering to shake his hand. "Ah, sorry dude but I already gave it to her." Axton lied easily, he gave Jay a cold stare and walked off feeling jealous. But why, why was he jealous all of the sudden, he didn't really know Sophie, hell he never really knew her, she was just the girl he liked to tease for having a chubby face.
