After school, I met Ryoga at the Seigaku courts where he was chilling and watching Chibisuke practice with the other regulars.
"I'm here," I say, taking a seat next to him as he looked up at me and smiled.
"Good. I was worried there for a second that you wouldn't come. I didn't piss you off too much, did I?" Ryoga smirked.
"No. As annoying as you are, I don't feel like you could ever truly piss me off," I sigh.
"Oh? Is that so? Well, Miss Y/n, it sounds to me like you're starting to fall for me," Ryoga smiled smugly at me as he lifted a hand and dropped it on my head, ruffling my hair a little bit.
"I'm not falling in love with you," I scowl. "I can promise you that. I will not, and I repeat, I will not ever fall in love with you. Ever."
"Never say never," Ryoga teased, grinning at me.
"I'm not the one who just said never, am I?" I smirk, lifting an eyebrow.
"You got me there. But still, never say you won't ever fall in love with me. You're not a prophet, ya know?" Ryoga shrugged.
"I know I'm not a prophet. But neither are you, so quit acting like I'm going to fall for you," I frown, pulling a few strands of your hair as I look at you.
"It's not acting if it's going to happen," Ryoga smirked smugly, flashing a broad smile at me as I yanked his hair hard.
"Mhm. Totally going to fall for you, the biggest flirt I've ever met," I drawled sarcastically, looking at you with an annoyed expression.
"That's right, you'll totally fall for me," Ryoga nodded confidently.
"And what would happen if you fall for me?" I say wryly.
"Mmm, I'd probably walk up to you, flirt, and then kiss you," Ryoga said with a shrug at me.
"You're confident," I muttered.
"Niisan," I heard Chibisuke call. "Practice is over."
I stand and look down at Ryoga as he rises to his feet.
"To my house!" Ryoga said, thrusting his fist in the air before starting to run, forcing my to chase after him.
I kept up pretty well considering the fact he's got longer legs and is stronger.
"Keep up, Y/n!" Ryoga grinned as he sped up. I sighed and picked up my speed, crashing into him when he suddenly stopped in front of a house.
"Jeez. Don't just suddenly stop," I scowl, rubbing my nose and making sure I didn't break it against his spine.
"And this, my dearest love, is where I live. And it'll be both of ours once you accept my marriage proposal," Ryoga smirked, cocky as he gestured at the house before leading me around and pointing out things and people.
"This is the entrance. The kitchen is over there and that's our cousin Nanako," Ryoga said, pointing at a tall, lithe girl with dark hair and a soft smile and look in her eyes.
"And through the back we've got our perverted father, Nanjiro," Ryoga said, pointing at a young man in a monk robe and reading a magazine of porn.
"Somewhere around this house is our mother Rinko," Ryoga said. He pointed out through the doors where Nanjiro was seated.
"That's the tennis court we have over there, right by the giant gong like thing," he said with a light shrug at me and a wide grin as he turned back to look at me. "So, is it to your liking?"
"Yeah," I nod. "It's a nice place."
"I'd that all you have to say about it?" Ryoga teased, smiling at me.
"What?" I smiled. "Did you want me to say this? 'Oh, I just love this house! The interior is so simple but so exquisite at the same time! And the exterior! Oh, the exterior is just amazing and unique. The large tennis court in the back just adds to the uniqueness and special vibe and feeling that this house gives off!' Did you expect me to say that?"
Ryoga chuckles and glances down at me before looking back up at his yard. "No. But I would have been pleased if you'd done so. After all, this house is the one true treasure in my life, along with my perverted and retired pro tennis father, my younger half brother, my cousin and my mother!" He said with a laugh and a false tone of his voice.
"Oh, just keep it up, Ryoga. And I'll never fall for you," I say lightly, waving a hand in the air with a slight smirk.
"Not yet, but you will," Ryoga smiled. "I promise you that."
"You should only promise things you can control," I sigh, shaking my head at him.
"You're the one who promised me that you wouldn't fall in love back at the tennis courts today," Ryoga said, raising an eyebrow at me. "You can't promise something about who you love unless you know you won't love them."
"And we've gotta few smart words coming out of Echizen Ryoga's mouth for the first time in a while," I said in an announcer voice. "Isn't that amazing, folks? Who knew Echizen Ryoga could be smart?"
Ryoga looked at me, blinked, shook his head, and then turned and looked back outside, a white and brown cat walking by in front of us.
"Is he yours?" I asked, pointing at the cat and then holding a hand out so I could try to pet him.
"He loves Chibisuke," Ryoga smiled. "That's Karupin, he's ours."
I smile as Karupin approaches us and let's me pet him. He was so soft. By the looks of him, I'd say he was a Himalayan Cat.
"He's cute," I say as pet his fur.
"Yeah. His favorite is Chibisuke," Ryoga nodded, reaching down to stroke him before standing up and moving away, waiting for me to follow.
I guess tennis is next.
