Castiel's point of view
Balthazar stepped right in front of my desk to give me a quick pep talk. "Castiel, you do know that if you tell Michael about this he could call the principal and ask Mr. Nobis to change your partner right?" I stared right into Balthazar's eyes before replying, " It's okay Balthazar, I'll be fine. Just wait for outside really quick I have something I need to do." As I stood up from my seat, I heard the bell signifying the end of the school day.
I tried to walk up to Dean with a touch of nonchalant, even though inside I felt like a middle school aged girl trying to ask out her crush, even if that's not what I was doing at all.
I tapped his shoulder before I introduced myself, " Hello, I'm Castiel." He turned around to stare back at me before answering," The name is Dean Winchester." When he spoke, I couldn't help but have a sense of interest with the amount of mysterious he put forward.
"Right, I...uh...have you for first period."
"Oh yeah with Mrs.Malum, she clearly hates me even though she's the bitch."
"Really I think she's a good teacher." The moment quickly filled with the awkward tension and awkward silence while I scolded myself for trying to defend Mrs. Malum. I should have just let him talk dirt about her and followed his example. I tried to take control of moment by speaking up," Anyways... uh I'm not busy after school if you want to come to my house and start coming up with ideas for the project."
"Oh yeah. Sure."
"Okay, let's go"
"Wait, no I can't today." The feeling of rejection soon washed over me as I replied," Why not, does it have something to do with your parents cause we could go ask them right now." He laughed while I grew confused which he toke as a reason to smirk. "No, actually I have detention." 'I am an idiot' my brain shouted. I mentally face palmed as I felt my cheeks grow hot and toke as a sign of blushing. " Oh, uh if you want I could wait for you to get out?"
"Really?" He paused before continuing "Okay yeah could you?" I nodded before replying, "Sure, yeah let me just do something really quick." I ran outside as fast as I could towards the area where I knew Balthazar and Raphael parked their cars. I spotted Balthazar right before he was able to open the door and drive away. " Balthazar, Balthazar!" He stopped moving and waited for me to catch up. I tried to speak up but all that came out was panting that demonstrated my lack of athleticism and exercise. " Get in or i'll leave you.Hurry up Castiel, my parents want me home for a special dinner with one of my father's clients and his very pretty daughter." I threw Balthazar an annoyed face. "Come on, Cas." I regained my breath and was able to murmur out, " Can I ask you for a favor?" He sighed out with exasperation before replying, " What is it?" I smiled my best as I muttered out, "Can I borrow your car?" He gave a serious face and answered, "Don't tell me you're going to stay and wait for that bastard." I gave him my best pleasing face yet cut back a little so I did not seem desperate. He moved and I took it as a sign of him giving me the favor as I held out my hand. Balthazar quickly stated, "You know Michael would not like you hanging out with him. "
"Yeah well Michael does not even like me hanging out with you." He smiled while giving me the keys to the new car his parents bought him. "Well, I'm different, I actually have class." I fake gasped and replied to his comment, "Your right, oh my, what if his poorness rubs off on me." I chuckled at my own sarcasm. "Joke all you want but if I were you I would keep an eye on him. People in his class usually want one thing from us lucky rich people." I knew what he meant and even thinking about it made me frown. As I stood contemplating what he said, Balthazar left while shouting at Raphael. "Raphael, can you give me a lift home?" I still stood there as everyone of my friends left in their cars towards their own homes. I gave myself a pep talk as I walked back inside the school and waited for Dean to come out of detention. A few minutes later Dean came out of the classroom. "Hey." He jumped up which means that my presence took him as a surprise. "Hey, you waited." I smiled," I said I would." He glanced down, as if he was trying to hide a smile. Which I knew was not because of me. "Yeah well most people would have just left because they got hungry or something."
"Well I'm not most people." The moment was once again filled with silence yet unlike earlier there was no awkward tension in between. "Okay, well you're probably hungry so let's get you something to eat", I spoke. He laughed at my comment before answering, "We might have to make a pit stop." He seemed nervous while mentioning this. " Oh okay sure. We could take my car." As we exited the school and went into the school parking lot, we stopped in front of slick black car with someone waiting on the floor next to it. As this person stood up off the floor and put the book back into their backpack, I could see the resemblance this boy had to Dean, this boy was obviously his brother. "Cas, this is my little brother Sammy."
"It's Sam, and nice to meet you Cas?"
"It stands for Castiel. My parents named me after an angel let's just say my parents are very religious."
"Well I like it. It suits you perfectly." I tried to hide the blush that would be appearing at Sam's comment. Dean appeared bothered when I faced him again which he instantly changed into a smile. "Anyways Sam, Castiel and I have to do a project for chemistry will you tell dad." Sam opened the door and slid into the back seat. " It's okay you can sit in the front if you want. Besides I have my own car." I motioned over towards Balthazar's car even if I stated it as my own. " I can lead if you want or follow after you."
Dean and I agreed that we would meet up at a diner. He said he had to drop Sam off at home and I tried to say that it was okay. I drove home where I found nobody home as usual. As I left to meet Dean, I checked my reflection swiftly while deciding two things. 1)I would walk to the diner that Dean recommended and 2) the checking of my reflection did not mean I felt anything for Dean, it meant I cared about my appearance in public.
