The moon was shining down on a crisp Friday night. It was late, the stars dazzling in the sky as you could hear the idle chit chat and laughter from others around you.

Walking through the dimly lit city, with street lamps the only way to guide you and your adventure partner, you trudge through the city and approach a nearby trail.

"Are you sure this is even safe? We shouldn't go walking through shady areas in the dead of night" Said Muichiro, the usual voice of reason when it comes to your adventures.

You and Muichiro have known each other since you were kids, you've basically done everything together. As tots he was always the more careful one, barely going out of the boundaries his parents placed upon him, never having a hunger for adventure like you did. However, you were the complete opposite to his tame and safe nature; you were wild, free, trying to break every rule your parents gave you in order to do what you thought would be the most entertaining.

You and Muichrio, the package deal, two peas in a pod if you will; it's always a rare occurrence whenever one is without the other.

"You worry too much!" you scoff, starting on the mysterious trail, walking backwards to make sure your buddy didn't leave you.

"I come here allll the time! Besides, you said you wanted to try and do something fun so that's what I'm gonna make you do!"

"Yeah, and now I regret it." Muichiro said, rolling his eyes and sighing at how annoying you're being, pushing him to do this.

You couldn't help but giggle at his attitude. Muichiro was always a fun character to have around; despite how often he protested being around you, you knew he wouldn't have it any other way.

You were wild and curious over everything and he was there to ensure your safety, constantly keeping an eye on you and steering you away from strangers. How did you repay this? By being the adventure that he was too scared to be. You ensured you two had the best memories and that was his favorite thing about being with you.

"You know you don't! Just hush and stay quiet, take in nature or something" You shrugged as you continued to walk, closing your eyes ever so often.

You took in a deep breath through your nose and exhaled through your mouth. You're not a huge nature person; you have honestly never been. However, you do have moments of appreciating a breath of fresh air.

After minutes of walking in a comfortable silence, only speaking ever so often about insignificant things, you finally came to a halt. Stopping upon a small cliff and staring out into the open sky, enjoying the relaxing and happy sensation you already felt crawling onto your skin. You sat down on the ledge, looking over your shoulder to see your stoic friend standing there, just watching you.

"Hellooooo? C'mon, sit with me" You said cheerfully, smiling once you saw him reluctantly walk over.

"I saw more than enough nature, I think we can go now."

"Oh, stop being so negative, Mui. Here, lay down." You said as you gently pushed him down onto the grass, laying beside him and staring into the sky.

The stars were beautiful, tiny, shiny dots lighting up every inch of the sky. You felt..Peaceful. You always felt peaceful seeing a scene as beautiful as this, a scene that can easily make you feel amazing, along with the singular person who could boost you up just as high.

"I don't understand, what's so special about this?" He questioned, obviously uncomfortable in his position.

You could hear the shifting as he tried to get comfortable on a side, or even be able to rest easily on his back, the groans of watching stars that did nothing less than amusing, and the huffs whenever you finally told him to shut up and try to enjoy himself.

Then, there was silence. The peace and quiet filling up the air around you two, the normal peace that you get whenever you're around each other. Understanding with little words, something you consider important in a friendship or more, being able to tell small simple things without the need of words.

It's important, at least to you. As a spontaneous little girl who wasn't the best at explaining your emotions. You would blow up or say things you didn't mean because of your emotions taking over and no one seemed to understand why you would do so, punishing you instead of trying to understand you even a bit. Everyone but Muichiro, who was so alike to you yet so different.

Muichiro didn't have a short fuse like you, in fact, he was the calmest out of any person you really knew back in childhood. He never talked back, he used to always speak in whispers, in fact, he wasn't that talkative at all. Others misunderstood him too, often jumping to conclusions because he had trouble explaining things as well, his quiet and reserved nature almost being the death of him in some situations. However, you two got to know each other, you understood the little things; how Muichiro would pick his nails or rub his arm when he's nervous or uncomfortable, playing with his hair whenever he's shy, hiding his blinding smile because he's still insecure about his teeth.

He knew little things about you as well. He knew these things almost as if they were second nature: how you'd play with your fingers when you're nervous, hide your mouth with your hands when you smile with all teeth, often avoiding eye contact whenever you're in trouble because it's easy to make you cry, the little things that he couldn't help but adore when it comes to you.

Of course, he'd never tell.

"I want to know about some of this stuff.. Like, constellations, or whatever" He glanced over at you, giving you a small smile knowing that this would peak your interest.

You nodded quickly, pointing at different constellations and brighter lights that would be planets, dumping all the knowledge you know about each and every one. Another thing he couldn't help admiring, the sound of your voice, how it would go higher whenever you rambled because of how excited you got. You went on, and on, about planets, constellations, and how it makes you feel so at ease, yet can't describe why and all he could do was stare. He was captivated, allowing you to suck him into your beautiful light.

Laying on his side, his eyes flickering in the sky whenever you looked back at him to make sure he was paying attention, but in an instant looking back at you when you looked away. His best friend, his rock, the adventure he couldn't be — His star.

"The sky... it's magnificent." You said, taking in the beautiful display in front of you. "isn't it?"

Muichiro paused, nodding his head. ".. Yeah, I suppose."

He wasn't looking at the sky.
