Callisto had a look of disbelief on his face before an amused chuckle escaped from his lips. What secrets does this place have? It would seem they were not simply stuck on an ordinary room.
Eckles retracted his gaze from the door on where his master had left, his eyes darkening before he moved his pupils to look at Callisto.
Callisto who had overcome hardship and countless assassination attempts naturally sensed the knight staring at him, his lips curled involuntary and he stared back at the knight.
The two didn't say anything yet the tension between them was somehow tensed. The others simply didn't notice it.
"No...way" Reynold had a disbelief look on his face, looking at the door who was now closed. Naturally he did not notice the tension between the knight and the crown prince.
Reynold gritted his teeth and ran towards the door. His disturbance caused the knight and the crown prince put their staring contest into a halt. Looking at Reynold who ran towards the door and twisted the doorknob, intending to follow Penelope.
As soon as his hand touched the doorknob and he twisted it, his whole body froze and he looked at the doorknob he was holding. He raised an eyebrow before he used his force, twisting it yet the doorknob did not budge.
"What the hell?!" Reynold let out a yell before he twisted it again. "What's wrong with this door?! It won't budge!"
"Pardon? Hasn't Lady Penelope exited there just now? How can that be?" Winter raised an eyebrow and walked towards the door. Reynold took his hand away from the doorknob, letting the Marquis twist it instead.
Winter frowned before he tried twisting it again. The doorknob did not budge making the Marquis and Reynold dumbfounded.
"Has Penelope locked it on the other side?" Derrick walked over to them in a calm demeanor, walking slowly before he stopped in front of the door.
"Impossible, we are currently inside the room and doors such as this has the lock placed inside. If the lock would be placed outside, then what's the use of locking the door?" Reynold groaned and gritted his teeth, letting out a desperate sigh.
"But Penelope just walked out and opened that door without much difficulty, how can it be that we couldn't?" Duke Eckhart frowned and took a deep breath, sighing before he placed a hand on the bridge of his nose.
"What's the use of twisting that doorknob and opening it the right way? Just destroy the door, simple as that" Callisto interjected with a smirk plastered on his face.
Some others couldn't help but frown. Duke Eckhart was about to say something when Reynold suddenly folded the sleeve of his clothes and faced the door with a serious look, waving his hand as if he was warming up to what he was about to do.
There was no need to ask what he was planning, Duke Eckhart and the others had already guessed it.
"Reynold" Derrick called out with a frown, looking at Reynold who was desperate to get out and chase after Penelope. His tone was cold and he spoke as if he was telling Reunion not to act rashly.
Reynold immediately groaned and looked away, taking a step away from the door.
"Don't bother chasing after her. She is not Penelope anyway" Derrick closed his eyes and turned around, his tone cold and stern, it made others have a vision that Derrick simply didn't care anymore.
Reynold frowned at this, looking at the closed door on distress, "..But what if that stupid neighboring woman do something to her? Her soul might not be the real one, but the body she is occupying certainly belongs to Penelope"
