I stayed crouched down until I heard a set of boots walking up the hall. My hands glowed the misty green, and the person stops walking up the hallway. I barely look over the edge to see what happened. The man, who was walking up the hallway was frozen. His eyes where blood red and a shocked expression was on his face. I slowly get up. I walk out and the other two people at the end of the hallway run to catch me. I lift up my hands creating a barrier. I then feel like I needed to protect myself. Then a mist sword appears in my hands. The two people walk forward slowly looking at my wall. I walked forward as well. The wall crashed down. I swung my sword and it slices through their stomachs.
"Sorry!"
I touched the gashes and they healed.
"Cool."
I said as I looked at my hands. They were covered in the ghostly green mist. The man with blood red eyes looks at me.
"H-How are you doing that?"
"I don't know but I'll tell you now, ignorance is dangerous! Especially with weapons."
The man grips his gun tighter and walks towards me. I put my hands up.
"Stay back! I'm warning you!"
He steps forward his steps weak and uncertain.
"Y-you better stop I don't want to hurt anyone."
He continues to walk toward me. He cocks his gun and aims it at me.
"I'm so sorry but you... you are not normal you gotta go."
He shoots. I put my hands up to guard myself and the bullet stops. I look over my arms and the man hadn't moved. I slowly nudged over. He didn't react. I slowly put my arms down and walk towards him. I take his gun out of his hand. the bullet suddenly hit the wall. The man looked at me and backed up against the wall.
"Alright I have the gun. I talk. what's going on?"
"T-the government was overthrown. The last command we received is to protect all those who need it." "Oh and so you try to kill me?" He looks away ashamed. He then looks at the people on the ground unconscious.
"Well look at what you did to them! You sliced them and cursed them with your witchcraft!"
"ITS NOT WITCHCRAFT! And I healed them. So then you AIM THIS GUN AT ME THINKING THAT I AM EVIL FOR FIXING MY MISTAKE?"
He looks away again.
"Look miss please just drop the gun."
"Ok... I will..."
He looks at me surprised. I bolt down the hallway at chuck the gun out the window.
"Woops.."
The man, looking shocked, runs at me.
"M-my gun."
I start running. I take a sharp turn towards the stairwell and notice the fire escape out the window. Looking back making sure he wouldn't see, I go out on the fire escape and bolt down the stairs. I hear in the distance the man yelling for me. I pull my hood up again. And looked at my hands. The mist was no longer there, but it was replaced by a soft green look.
'Gotta get gloves I guess.'
I casually walk out the alley where the fire escape led to. I look around. The city was in shambles. Store windows were busted, smoke from fires was seen in the distance, and cars were left dented and totaled along the road.
'Oh my gosh.. Where's mom? Is the house ok? Peter?!' The worry and fear flooded in along with unanswered questions.
"Home.."
The words tasted bitter in my mouth. This place that I have known for years had been destroyed in a matter of weeks. Small tears began to transcend down my face.
"P-Peter."
His name sounded foreign. I wanted to see him, to protect him.
"My world... Is... Gone."
