The alarms blazed and I ran down the hall. Mom should be on this floor. I ran past a dozen cells and past countless corners. Finally I heard my mother. Talking to herself, from what it sounded like, she was trying to calm down.
"Silvia."
An unknown voice said.
"What?"
"Your daughter has escaped."
She gasped.
"She was last seen heading this way."
The abrupt ending of a intercom was heard. With that I smashed the door down. My mothers shriek of terror was heard throughout the whole floor.
"I-Ivy dear... Sweetie what are you doing here?"
"He told me."
"Who told you what dear?"
"Dad, the fights, the choice you made, murdering him. You said it was a robbery. You said that he was protecting us."
"Sweetie I-"
"NO! Don't you sweetie me. I have cried countless days. Haven't been able to sleep for weeks. You... You! Of all people!! I TRIED TO MAKE IT EASIER ON YOU AND PETE!! But now Peter is scared of you. HE TOLD ME YOU WERE AFTER HIM!"
"Darling he is just a boy what does he know?"
That's it. Before I could stop myself I was throwing flame bursts at her and she was dodging. By the time I hit her in the elbow. The guards held me back.
"IF YOU EVER TOUCH A SINGLE HAIR ON PETER'S HEAD I SWARE TO THE LORD ABOVE I WILL END YOU!! I DON'T CARE IF YOU ARE MY MOM I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!"
Those were the words. The last words I ever said to her. Because as soon as it was out the mist exploded. It killed the guards and mom. I know I was frustrated but those where empty threats. I would never forgive her, that much was true. But never kill her. It exploded the roof, where we were locked away, and left me a way out. I wearily got up and climbed out. I could never be looked at the same. I could never forgive myself. I wonder if Peter could ever look at me again.
