Leaving Myrtle Beach, South Carolina could have been the hardest decision I had to make in my life. Not only was I leaving my work and friends but I was leaving the place where all these memories have happened. Even though most of the memories were bad ones, there were still some I was going to miss. In South Carolina Emmie was born, I was raised by Nicole and most importantly I became best friends with Logan. I have now been driving for an hour and thirty minutes, and I haven't even made it to the border of Georgia. I looked into the review mirror to see Emmie fast asleep in her car seat. I was planning for Emmie and I to settle down in Denver, Colorado. Denver is a great place for education because it is the nation's most highly educated city, with the highest percentage of high school and college graduates. It's also a very green city and the environment ranges from mountains in the West to plains in the East. Denver has lots of parks for Emmie to play around and have the childhood I have always wanted her to have. The only problem is, from Myrtle Beach to Denver, it will take us twenty six hours and with Emmie that will not be easy. I know it will take way longer for us because she is still very young and needy. I know that this will be a very difficult task but I will do everything I possibly can. The roads have been very empty and the car is dead silent. I turned the radio up just enough for me to hear the beautiful chorus of "Breath Me" by Sia. When I was getting abused at home, this was the song I always turned to. It expressed how and what I was feeling everyday of my life. I slowly started singing along with the radio as I drove along the lonely road of South Carolina.

Seven hours and thirty minutes later....

We were now in Montgomery Alabama and I decided that it was time for me to fill the car up with gas. I stopped at an old run down gas station and pulled up to the very first pump. I got out of my car and look at the pump only to see that they didn't have a credit card slot. I knew that I have to now go into the gas station with Emmie because I can't just leave her in the car all alone. I walked over to the passenger door and pushed the seat forward. I unbuckled Emmie and lightly laid her head on my shoulder. I then walked inside of the run down store and looked all around. It looked like it has been abandon and just left to rot. "Hello?" I said looking around the place cautiously. "Is anyone here?" I said hearing my voice echo. "One second." A raspy, low voice said with a thick accent. I walked to the counter and waited patiently for the worker to arrive. After a couple of minutes of looking at all the old candies and probably stale chips, an older chubby man walked up to me. He was probably in his mid 70's and was a shorter man with a round body. He looked like he haven't shaved in a while. He had a large scare on his forehead and tattoos all over his arms. I looked down onto his shirt and notice a name tag on it and he goes by the name Dez. "What can I do for you?" He said with an annoyed expression on his face. "I need some gas and my car is low." I said turning around and pointing all the old beetle next to the pump. "How much do you need?" He said rolling his eyes. "About 10 gallons." I said biting my lip. "That's all?" He said raising his eyebrows suspiciously. "Yes that's all." I said handing him my car and giving him a fake smile. He took my card and swiped it down the register, he then typed some buttons and handed me the receipt. I grabbed the receipt and my card and headed back to the car. I put sleeping Emmie back into her car seat and pumped the gas into my car. As I looked back into the store, I saw the old worker stare pierce through my body. Something about him makes me feel very uncomfortable and I m so happy that I will never see that man again. I then got into m car once I saw that Emmie was buckled into her car seat correctly. I got back on the main interstate and drove until I was as far away from that gas station as possible. About ten minutes later, I see a car dealership up ahead. I think its time for me to get a new car because I seriously don't know how long this car will last. I pulled up into the dealership and parked. Right when I got out of the car, a blond hair and deep sea blue eyed guy walked up to me. He styled his blond hair into a messy quiff. he looked at me and smiled a charming smile. "Hey I'm Niall, how can I help you today." He said shaking my hand. I then pushed the passenger seat forward and picked up the still sleeping Emmie. Lots of people would say that she sleeps a lot but if you think about it, when you live in an environment that is not safe, you can't sleep. "I'm looking for car with great gas mileage, safe and in this generation." I said with a small laugh at the end. "Well there a multiple options for you, first, there's a Chevrolet Cruze ECO. It's starting price is 18,425 dollars and the mileage is 28/city and 42/ highway. Its one of the safest cars and it has a high tech system that helps you maintain control. "Oh wow." I said taking in new information. "We also have a Chevrolet Volt, Its 40,280 dollars and the mileage is 36/ city and 95/ highway. The Volt is an electric wonder because it can run on gasoline and also electricity. "What would you go for?" I said raising my eyebrow. "Me personally I would go for the Chevrolet Cruze because its less expensive and has almost the same qualities. "I think I will go with that." I said cracking a smile. "What color would you like?" He said walking the three of us to his office. Niall sat down and filled out some information and then passed it over to me. After all the info. was down and I finished paying, Niall told someone to move Emmie's car seat to new one and we were on our way.
