The first week of what you called 'house arrest' was a nightmare. Your body ached, mentally and physically. You and your mother had a rough relationship, but that didn't mean you didn't love her. And now she was gone. You found it hard to fathom the severity of the situation.

Additional to this, you were extremely annoyed at the fact you weren't allowed to leave your house, but your sister was roaming free somewhere. She had caused you so much pain, this was the cherry on top for you.

Though Oliver tried his best to help, nothing could help the pain you were in. Your mind filled was filled with dark thoughts, the only person who was able to lift them was your daughter. You would sit with her and help her with various puzzles and games as well as you could.

A doctor came to check on you twice a week, asking you various questions and checking your arm.

Amidst all of it, you had completely forgotten about your promise to Onceler. You hadn't called him, he hadn't called you. He was completely unaware of your current situation.

"Hey, want some coffee?" Oliver walked into your bedroom, holding a cup of coffee.

"Sure" You sat up, the pain worsening as you did. He passed you the coffee and smiled. You decided now was a good time to talk about what happened between the two of you.

"Oliver, we need to talk" You said. He shot you a knowing glance before sitting at the end of the bed.

"You have been so much help to me. I appreciate all of it. But I don't know if I can just forget about Onceler. I love him. Do you understand what I'm saying?" He nodded, understanding that it was a one time thing.

"I don't want our friendship to end Oliver, I really don't" You sighed, he looked upset.

"I understand. I didn't intend for this to happen, he's my brother after all" He smiled, assuring you that it was okay. He looked a little hurt though. Oliver held out his hand to you.

"Friends?" He asked. You smiled, shaking his hand.

"Friends." You sipped your coffee, feeling slightly better about the whole situation. He left the room to give you some peace and quiet.

After your coffee, you decided to try and get up. You wanted to be able to get up without the help of anyone else. You pushed off of your non-broken arm, pain rushed through your body. You groaned in pain, and anger. Come on, you can do this. You managed to get up off your bed, holding onto the bedside table for support. Fuck, this hurt.

You took one wobbly step and straightened your posture. Though you were in a lot of pain, you felt empowered to try and walk. You felt like a baby taking its first steps, how embarrassing. You took another step, exhaustion taking its toll.

You made it just past your bed, wobbling slightly. You noticed a broom leaning beside the doorway, that could help. One footstep at a time, you made it to the broom, you could use it as a walking stick of sorts. So long wheelchair!

Oliver saw you emerge from your bedroom, breathing heavily. He rushed over to you, you were holding onto the broom for dear life.

"Y/N! Well done!" He smiled, you were frowning though.

"Something's wrong, my leg feels awful" You were understating it though, it hurt like shit.

"Do you want me to call the doctor?" He asked, you shook your head. You would be fine.

"Y/N, you've gone grey, I'm calling the doctor" You stumbled, headed for the couch. Oliver caught you before you fell over, placing you on the couch. He picked up his phone and rang the doctor, telling him it was urgent.

---

"I don't know how we didn't notice this, your leg is broken. Linear fracture" The doctor sighed, showing you the x-rays. That looked nasty.

"How long until I can walk properly" You sighed, what else could go wrong?

"Well, if we'd noticed this earlier, maybe a couple months. But since you put strain on it, the fracture worsened. We can't be sure if you'll ever return to walking properly." What? You wouldn't be able to walk properly? What the fuck does that mean?

"I don't know what you mean"

"Now there is a few options. There is a surgical procedure that would speed things up, I can go into details if you would like?" He asked. Surgery? It was that bad?

"Uhm, what are the other options?"

"If you choose not to go through with surgery, we can put a cast on your leg. The healing process is tedious and long, over a year." He sighed. That could not happen.

"Surgery! I choose surgery!" No way you were gonna be on bedrest for a year! No way.

----

You were going into surgery later on today, you were getting kinda nervous. Pippa had made you a Good luck card and Oliver had sent balloons to the hospital. How nice.

Even Al sent you a card, though it wasn't as nice as the others.

"Break a Leg? Thanks Al" You chuckled at the card, you knew he meant well. The doctors entered the room, prepping you for surgery.

"How long's it gonna take?"

"About 2 hours give or take. Don't worry, you'll be asleep the whole time" The nurse smiled at you. At least you'd be asleep.

You were given a gas mask, told to breath in and out four times. Just like that, you were unconscious.

-----

You slowly opened your eyes, peering at the bright fluorescent light above you. That was it? Probably the best sleep you'd had in a while. Oliver and Pippa sat beside you, they were smiling.

"Mommyy!" She ran up to hug you catching you a little bit off guard.

"Oh! Hi sweetie" You chuckled as she hugged you tightly. A doctor walked in as Pippa sat back down.

"Hi Ma'am, how are you feeling?" They asked you. You felt alright, you were just worried about your leg.

"I'm okay, how did the surgery go?" You asked. The doctor smiled at you briefly before showing you x-rays. They went on to explain the healing process.

"How does that sound?" They asked.

"All good, can you tell if it will go back to normal?" You were worried that you wouldn't be able to walk normally after all of this.

"Unfortunately we won't be able to know until the leg has mostly healed. Give it a month and we'll see then." They passed you a bag of what you assumed was medicine to help with the healing process.

"You're gonna have to use crutches or a wheelchair for about a month, I'll give you both so you can choose between them"

"Can I go home now?" You asked, they nodded. Thank fuck for that.

----

It was around 4am in the morning, you were woken up by a knock at the door. You got on the wheelchair next to the bed.

You opened the door, a police officer was there.

"What's happened?" You asked, looking up at the police officer.

"Morning ma'am, sorry to bother you. We've found your sister, she's at the police station being processed." Oh shit.

"Wow, okay. Do I need to make a statement?" Relief flooded through you, she was finally gonna pay for everything she had done.

"At some point, yes. For now, you can just relax, we are handling it." You smiled at the officer, you could actually leave your house when you wanted now.

"Again, sorry for bothering you so early in the morning, We'll be in touch." You waved goodbye to the officer, relief and happiness leaving a smile on your face. You were still tired though, so you headed back to bed. You were safe now.
