"Thank you kyo" she said with a smile and then toom several steps forward, with a great speed, she still impressed me with her speed "but if we don't hurry that demon might harm another human!"
"Yes! Let's go!" And she and I both took off running. I turned it into a race to see who could get there first "if I arrive first I get to decapitate the demon!" I shouted
Shisaka yuki
Kyojuro was very understanding and he listened to may entire story without laughing or anything like that, he actually seemed angry about what I had been through.
We ran side by side, I was happy, kyojuro would be be my friend, and somebody I could count on.
I pushed myself to truly see if I was faster than kyojuro, I kicked my feet hard onto the ground and sprinted forward, he laughed and did the same and shot far ahead of me, how was he able to move so fast?
He arrived to the village before me "agh, I wanted to be the one who decapitate the demon" I said
"I win!" He said smiling
"How did you move so fast ahead of me?" I asked
"it's in your breathing, you need to focus it the right way so you can move quick" he said
Maybe I could learn from kyojuro after all, he seemed to have more skills than me,maybe I should ask to train with him
I felt a sudden temperature change in the water and kyojuro's head whipped toward the direction I felt the change
"It's here" he said frowning
"I'll walk close and maybe I can lure it out" I said, taking several steps toward the water
"No! It's dangerous!" He shouted
"We have no other choice" I turned around and looked into his eyes " I trust you"
His eyes widened, and he drew his sword and nodded, I walked closer to the water , I felt the temperature of the demon approaching fast, normally I would jump away but the demon wouldn't come out if I did
Kyojuro charged forward with his sword, the demon jumped out and grabbed me he tugged my arm and tried to pull me into the water, but kyojuro sliced his neck and his head flew into the water and his body fell into the edge of the water
"Yuki!"He shouted and grabbed my arm, he inspected it and we both saw a big gash at the same time
"I'm alright it wasn't from the demon, it was from my arm being dragged against that rock" I pointed to the sharp rock on the shore
"Press hard on it!" He ordered and I did as he asked "I have nothing to wrap it!" He growled
I took off my haori and ripped the sleeve, I'd need to repair it later, I passed the ripped piece to kyojuro and he wrapped my arm tightly with it, we were both looking at my bleeding arm when I spoke
"Kyo?"
His eyes shot up to meet mine "Yes?"
"Could we..." I wasn't sure if I really wanted to ask him if we could do it
He watched me while I fought myself over this decision, he waited patiently gor me to finish my inner battle, I stood and turned away from him
"Yuki, you can ask me anything you'd like, you don't need to be afraid"
"I want to train with you!" I shouted embarrassed
"Good idea! yes!" He shouted back,he was always so enthusiastic "let's go to my residence! I have a great yard that we can use for training! And you will meet my younger brother senjuro!"
To where he lived? I'd see where kyojuro lived and I'd meet his brother, i wondered what his brother was like, was he loud like him? How old was his brother? And then I realised I didn't know how old was kyojuro either
"Um kyo?"I asked
He stood and took his place beside me "what is it yuki?"
"How old are you?" I turned red at this question
He turned to me and smiled " I've been alive for eighteen years!"
So he was close to my age I would turn eighteen next month, would kyojuro look down on me if he knew I was younger than him, kyojuro looked at me as I was overthinking
"I see you have a concern, is it about my age?" He asked
I thought about answering him but didn't know how, I changed the subject and asked about his brother
"Does senjuro like food as much as you do?"
He looked at me a moment and then turned and walked bach to the path "he likes food, he cooks it very well!"
My relief came out in the form of a sigh, I was happy he allowed the change of subject and didn't press on
He led me for some time toward a city, and we went in the direction of many houses, the houses in this district were large, we stopped outside one that had "Rengoku" written on a sign in the front yard
"Welcome yuki, to house rengoku!"
