demi woke up pretty early, around 2 am. she thought it was because she fell asleep relatively early last night since she usually goes to bed past midnight.

she rolled over and looked at her digital clock, which read 2:08 am. demi sighed and grabbed her stuffed rabbit, skittles, and cuddled him for a bit, trying to go back to bed. that didn't work whatsoever. she sat up and layed skittles down and looked at her window.

she crawled over to the window and opened it, then looked over her shoulder at her door to see if she could hear anyone moving outside it. once she thought it was good, she crawled out onto the stoop. then she pushed her window down but left it cracked open so she could get back in.

demi took a step and leaned over the railing, looking around. it was quite peaceful, no cars, no people. the only sound there was was passing trains, a few cars, and a couple of ally cats or stray dogs nearby. the street lamps made it feel eerie or grungy, and demi lived for it.

she stood there for a while, enjoying her time alone. once in a while, there would be some ally cat that passed by. one even came up and let demi pet it, but it was scared off by something climbing onto the stoop above her. demi jumped and looked up but couldn't see anything. she shrugged and leaned over the railing again.

"demi?" she looked up where the whisper yell came from and found adam staring down at her, and once she looked at him, he smiled and waved. "get your short ass up here."

she waved back and shrugged, climbing up the steep staircase. adam smiled and leaned against the railing.

"hey adam, i didn't think you'd be up or that your room was right above mine." demi whispered and rested an arm and hip on the railing.

"i didn't think you'd be up either." adam whispered back, shrugging.

"couldn't sleep?" demi whispered, looking out at the buildings around them.

"yep, you?" adam nodded. demi nodded back and shivered. she didn't realize how cold it was. "you cold? I can get you a hoodie if you want."

"oh no its okay-" demi started but adam cut her off and crawled through his window. she chuckled and watched him as he rummaged through his closet and pulled out a hoodie. adam came back out and tossed his hoodie to demi, who nearly dropped the hoodie over the railing.

"oh shit- adam I could've dropped it!" demi whisper yelled at adam.

"it's fine, and why are we whispering?" adam chuckled and whispered back. demi slipped to hoodie on and shrugged.

after a bit of talking and getting to know each other better, demi found out adam is an only child, he loves skateboarding, he plays the bass and he's very passionate about music. she also found out that he hates horror movies, and he's fairly well-mannered unless he's with ad and mike.

"demi, may i ask why you moved here?" adam asked, looking over at demi. she shifted slightly and nodded a little.

"um, we don't have the best dad in the world. he's a drunk and manipulates everyone. my mom filed for a divorce and now we are here." demi said softly, not really wanting to say more than she needed to. adam stared at her for a few seconds.

"that's bullshit. no one should have to go through that. i'm glad your mom did what she did and got away." he said, kicking at the railing gently. demi nodded and stated out at the sky. she didn't like people pittying her, and she's glad adam didn't apologize. what could he have done? nothing.

"hey, demi?" adam asked after a few minutes of silence.

"hey, adam?" demi said, looking over at the boy next to her.

"so me, ad, and mike are in a band, and i was wondering if you want to come to a gig? we, uh, we don't have the greatest songs ever, but yeah." adam stumbled a bit, looking over at demi.

"sure, when and where?" she chuckled softly.

"at a local bar a few blocks away, it's in a few days." he shrugged, "we can get you in if you wanted."

"ah, you can really get me in?" demi raised an eyebrow.

"of course, i'll put your name in the list and they can't refuse." adam nodded and smiled. demi smiled back.

"adam, want to go to my room?" demi asked.

"what," adam asked, giving her a confused look.

"oh, oh adam no, not to do that you sick fuck!" demi whisper yelled and smacked adam on the arm as he started laughing.

"okay, okay, i'm sorry!" he said between laughter. demi shook her head and smiled.

"c'mon," demi chuckled and grabbed adams hand and pulled him down the steep staircase and opened her window slowly. "take your shoes off out here, my bed is underneath the window." demi said and kicked her shoes off and threw them into her room over her bed. adam kicked his shoes off as well but left them outside.

the two climbed into demi's room and sat on her bed. demi got up and grabbed one of her mix tapes and put it in her radio, turning it on and turning the volume down. metallica started playing quietly and she sat back down next to adam.

"who's this one?" adam whispered and held up a lion stuffed animal.

"his name is waffles," demi shrugged and grabbed a lamb stuffed animal. "and this one is bo."

"like, little bo peep?" adam asked. demi nodded. adam smiled and set waffles down and grabbed a dinosaur stuffed animal.

"that one is finley." demi smiled  and set bo down and held her arms out for the dinosaur, but adam held his arms out as well.

"hug?" he asked.

"no, gimme my dino." demi giggled at adam, since he was pouting.

"nope, you don't get finley since i don't get hug." adam said hugging the dinosaur stuffed animal. demi chuckled softly and got up.

"i have a better song," she said and put her the cure album in her radio. once she pressed play she started swaying to 'let's go to bed'. adam sat there and watched her out of amusement. demi smiled and grabbed adams wrist and pulled him up, trying to get him to dance. adam chuckled and started dancing as well, and it wasn't the best dancing ever, but demi couldn't dance very well either.

they spent almost an hour dancing and laughing at each other until demi heard her mother get up to get ready for work.

"adam! adam hey, you have to go!" demi whisper yelled and turned the music down all the way and tried shooing him to the window.

"what, why?" adma whispered yelled back, confused.

"my mom's up, you need to go." demi whispered.

"what the fuck," adam groaned softly. "we were having fun."

"i know, it was a ton of fun. we will do it again, okay?" demi sighed and pushed adam out the window.

"fine, until then my dear, i will see you later." adam smiled and winked, putting his shoes back on and ruffled demi's hair and made his way back up to his room.

demi smiled brightly and closed her window and flopped into the pile of blankets in her bed and rolled herself into them. she looked over at the time and it was 5:30 am. she didn't realize how long she had been up with adam, but it was fun.
