Chapter 6: Fresh Faces

It's morning in James's room, as he slowly awakens, stretching his arms out and popping his back.

James turns to his left to see Zatanna still asleep beside him, cutely snoring with a smile.

James smiles fondly and gently kisses Zatanna's forehead and climbs out of bed to start his morning routine.

James steps into his bathroom and hops into his shower to wash up to start the day on his terms, after a few minutes he hops out of the shower and dries himself off with a towel.

James then fixes his hair by running a comb through it and uses magic to change his clothes.

James walks back into his room and sees Zatanna still sound asleep on his bed. He then gently climbs back into bed and gently rubs Zatanna's head.

Zatanna smiles sweetly and her eyelids slowly flicker open, her pupils darting to gaze at James.

James smiles and then says, "Good morning little sis."

Zatanna smiles and then says, "Good morning to you too bro-bro, I slept wonderfully last night."

James smiles and then says, "Good to hear little sis, how about we go get some breakfast."

Zatanna's face lights up and her stomach rumbles, licking her lips hungrily.

James smiles and turns around and then says, "Hop on."

Zatanna then leaps onto James's back, securing her arms around James's shoulders and interlocking her fingers for stability, while wrapping her legs around his waist.

James smiles and gets up and carries Zatanna downstairs to the kitchen.

Zatanna then eagerly asks, "Could you cook scrambled eggs and bacon for the both of us? Pretty please?" She sticks out her bottom lip and gives James her best puppy dog eyes to win him over through cuteness.

James smiles fondly and then says, "Sure little sis, I'll cook some scrambled eggs and bacon for us, let me grab the ingredients from the fridge and I'll get started."

Zatanna squeals excitedly, happily hopping up and down, clapping her hands.

James smiles and then says, "You're adorable little sis, too cute for words sometimes."

Zatanna then asks with a smirk, "So, exploiting my cuteness worked like a charm?"

James smiles and then says, "You can say it did yeah."

Zatanna smiles happily and hugs James's leg, nuzzling her face into him affectionately in a little sister type manner.

James smiles fondly and kisses Zatanna's forehead with brotherly affection.

Zatanna releases James's leg from her grasp and then says with a smile, "I'll wait in the living room so I'm not violating your cooking space bro-bro, cook on!" She runs out of the kitchen, performing three cartwheels and somersaults onto the couch with a bounce, giggling happily.

James smiles fondly and then says to himself, "Yep, adorable." He then grabs the styrofoam carton of eggs and the still plastic-sealed bacon from inside the fridge and starts making breakfast for himself and Zatanna, humming a catchy tune to himself to not lose concentration.

James then finishes cooking their breakfast and makes their plates, grabbing two plastic cups from a cabinet and pours them both some orange juice, and carries everything to Zatanna.

Zatanna then chirps happily, "Yay! Food's done! Now we can celebrate! Yippee!" She puts her arms in the air and jumps up and down repeatedly in enthused excitement, only stopping when her stomach rumbles again.
