There wasn't a lot of time for talking when Blake slipped into her window because it was pretty clear that she wanted clothes off right away. Only after they were done, and Blake was catching his breath did Ashley roll over and simper, "Nice to see you again."

"Nice to see you, too, angel." Blake kissed her on the forehead. "I could barely ask you how you were doing before you jumped me."

"Sorry, I just couldn't resist." She snuggled up to him, and her soft, warm body pressed up against his made his heartbeat even faster than it already was. "You only get more handsome with time."

"Maybe it's because I spend so much time with a beauty like you. Must've rubbed off on me." He kissed the tip of her nose.

"What a charmer." Ashley grinned at him. "You capture any more hearts since I've been gone?"

He really hated to talk about other partners with her, but she liked to listen to it, so he told her about every single one. Honestly, Blake had tried once or twice to swear off anyone except for Ashley, but it was hard to remember his promises on those late nights. A fling took up those spaces that he wanted Ashley to be in, and sometimes they could almost replace her, like Vance.

Yet, he didn't feel like talking about Vance to her. "Nope. No one. Besides, why are you asking about my love life when you're the one getting married?"

She giggled. "I am, aren't I?"

"I thought you and Steve were having problems because he wanted kids?"

"We were, for a bit. I was so against it because I felt like I still wanted to be young and go out without worrying about kids, but I started thinking and...." She gave Blake a small smile filled with so much joy that Blake somehow felt alienated by it. "Blake. Steve and I are pregnant."

"What?" Blake sat up on his elbow. "You're pregnant?"

She grinned and nodded. "Yes. You can't see it, but I'm one and a half months along. I wanted to visit home and tell you in-person."

"You...." Blake had no idea how to feel about this. "You're going to have a family with Steve?"

"Yes. Steve's company is really starting to take off, and we're looking at houses with a nursery!"

She was really going to do it. "How... you won't have time to visit Northfield if you're chasing after a tike all day."

"I thought of that, too!" She sat up, eyes glittering. "Look, you're good with numbers, right?"

Out of all his subjects, Blake was probably best with math, but he still slept through or skipped it like all the others. Mostly, it was his side gigs that probably helped him with the numbers. "Uh, I guess?"

"Steve needs someone to take care of the books for his company. I told him all about you, and he said he's willing to train you since you're like family to me."

"Wait, are you telling me to move to New York City with you?"

"Yes! You'll love living there, I promise. There's so many thrilling things there, and most importantly, I'll get to see you every week!" she squealed. "Doesn't that sound amazing?"

That... did sound good.

"But you'll have to move by April. Steve will really need you by then."

"April? I'd still have school." Not that Blake really attended. Or cared. Honestly, he was surprised he hadn't dropped out by now, and he was pretty sure the teachers were counting the days 'til he was out of their hair for good.

"I'm sorry, sweetie, but you'll have to put that on hold. We'll have you set up for a great, high-paying position with Steve, though, so once you're settled, you can go back and get your diploma!" She kissed him on the cheek. "I'm sorry. I also wanted to see you graduate, but the timing is just so tight. Would you please move to NYC? I really want to be able to see you whenever I want. Like old times."
