"Enough, little girl. Your power is now mine," the fallen angel's words dripped with menace, a disturbing smile stretching across her face.
Raynare's voice echoed in Asia's mind as she lay trapped in the grip of a nightmare. A primal scream tore from her throat as she fought her way back to consciousness.
Issei, alerted by her cries, burst into her room with genuine concern etched across his features.
"Asia, are you alright?" He rushed in, the door swinging wide open.
Struggling to calm her racing heart, Asia managed to sit up on her bed, a forced smile touching her lips.
"I'm fine Issei, it was just a nightmare" she uttered.
Issei exhaled a sigh of relief, visibly relieved by her recovery. However, the familial banter between Issei and his parents soon erupted, their voices filtering in from the hallway, punctuated by teasing comments.
"Look at that, our perverted son actually cares about something for once," his father's voice carried.
"Thanks to Asia, our son's finally growing up. Now, if only we could hasten the wedding," his mother chimed in playfully.
A rosy hue crept up Issei's cheeks, mortified by the exchange. Asia's lips curved in a faint chuckle, finding solace in their lighthearted bickering.
As the day unfolded, Asia's thoughts meandered back to the previous night's confrontation. The memory of Raynare's assault replayed relentlessly in her mind, the feeling of helplessness etched deeply. It wasn't her first taste of vulnerability, but it had been the most harrowing.
She liked Issei a lot, and knew she could always depend on him. However, at the same time, she couldn't help but feel like she was a liability to him. Not only that, throughout her whole life, she has always felt like she was a liability, even in the church she so revered, the one she was excommunicated from and sent by to die in a foreign land. It was a harsh reality, but true nonetheless. She always had to rely on others, and often times, she was a liability to them, and always got them in trouble. If only things were different. Why did she have to be born with this curse?
As the school day began, Asia found herself amidst a flurry of new faces. Names like Murayama, Katase, and Aika Kiryuu resonated with familiarity. New friendships sparked, yet her mind was consumed by the weight of her perceived inadequacy. Was she gonna be a liability to them to? Was she gonna count on them all the time? Was she gonna be a liability to them as well? Was this her fate?
No, surely something had to change. She couldn't just rely on them all the time. Even if she was dealt the worst hand from birth, surely there was something she could do for these people who introduced themselves to her life. All her life, she had nothing, but now, she is blessed with friendships, a home, and people she could her family.Even if it was all going to lead to nothing, maybe she would fall and stumble in the process. Then and there, she decided no matter what, she was gonna do her best to be strong enough to be be there when they needed her the most.
Time slipped by, and the day wore on. Riding home on Issei's bicycle, Asia's gaze rested on him. A wave of apprehension coursed through her.
"Is something wrong, Asia?" Issei's concern etched across his features, he turned his attention to her.
For a fleeting moment, Asia hesitated, battling with her inner turmoil. "It's nothing, Issei. I'll explain when we're home," her voice carried an undertone of nervousness.
As night fell, Asia summoned Issei and Rias to her room, her heart pounding in her chest. The time had come for her to lay her thoughts bare. With a deep breath, she began.
"I... I'm sorry," her voice trembled, a hint of vulnerability coloring her words.
Rias and Issei exchanged puzzled glances, unable to fathom her apology.
"I dragged you into danger, caused you pain, and made you all suffer for my sake. I'm sorry for being a burden."
Issei opened his mouth to speak, but Asia pressed on, her resolve firming.
"Which is why from today, I promise to get stronger too, I may have been born cursed, but I'll do my best to be there when you need me too. So please...please give me more time okay?"
Her words hung in the air, her plea raw and unfiltered. In response, Issei and Rias enveloped her in a reassuring embrace.
"Asia, take all the time you need. We're here with you," Issei's voice held unwavering support.
Rias echoed his sentiment, her embrace a testament to their unity. Tears welled in Asia's eyes. Their unwavering belief in her touched her soul, a spark of determination igniting within.
"Thank you, both," she whispered, gratitude coursing through her heart.
As the night progressed...

voices resonated, ancient greetings exchanged beneath the two nomads."
Amidst the intelligible chants, Asia found herself inexplicably transported. She observed an unknown land, voices in languages she couldn't comprehend. The faces bore a mix of features, hinting at a rich tapestry of heritage.
Confusion reigned, time and place suspended.
She began floating closer to the orb at gradually increasing speeds, she tried to repel her movement but could not, as she moved faster. As she was about to make forceful contact with them, a green light interfered, she was now suddenly freefalling down an endless void, strange letters she had never seen before spiraling around her form as she descended downwards towards a light.
A cascade of verdant light intervened, propelling her into a spiraling descent, letters of an unfamiliar script swirling around her.
Then, a brilliant light enveloped her, a cascade of colors spiraling in infinite patterns. Voices from epochs past whispered secrets as she plummeted towards an ethereal light.
...
With a gasp, Asia awoke, the remnants of her vision fading like mist. The sacred gear on her hand glowed, an eerie luminescence.
"What...?" she mumbled, her voice lost in the mystique of her experience.
She looked to her right hand, and to her surprise, the sacred gear on her hand was glowing.
