Chase POV

"Good Morning Chase." I hear a gentle voice say.

My eyes struggle to adjust to the light of the bright sunrise, I can barely see Skye looking at me with a smile, after a few moments, I manage to get my eyes open, I notice that nobody else was in sight.

"Where are the other pups?" I ask Skye whilst looking around.

"They're out exploring the nearby town." She replied as she started walking towards the shore, I smile as I head to the bathroom real quick to wash my face and fix my hair.

'Let's go' I say to myself as I head for the door. I stop in my tracks and my heart starts pounding once I realize that now was the perfect chance to confess my feelings to Skye. I poke my head out the door and see Skye, who is now at the shore, watching the sunrise. This was it, you can do it Chase.... I slowly walk up behind her, my heart going faster and faster after every step that I took.... when all of a sudden.... "Chase!! Hey Chase!"

"Huh!?" I say as I shoot up from my slumber

"Come on dude, it's almost breakfast, lets play some ball before we gotta go eat!" Zuma says before running back to the rest of the pups.

It takes me a second to realize that it was all just a dream. I shake it off and I head out of my pup-house and over to where the rest of the pups were playing.

"Hey Chase, wanna join?" I hear Marshall say "I'd love too but, three on two isn't very fair now is it?" I tell the spotted Dalmatian.

"It's alright dude, you take my spot, I kinda wanted to go for a dip anyway." Zuma said as he started sprinting towards the open water. "Thanks Zuma!" I shout before he got too far to hear.

I get into position as Rubble launches the ball over the net, Marshall collects it and sets me up for a spike "Chase go!" He says, signaling me to jump. I jump for it, but not until a huge gust of wind blows the ball straight towards the shore. It was a good thing Zuma was by the shore to pick up the ball before it blew into the ocean.

"Woah dude, where'd that wind come from?" He says while running back towards us.

"Don't know but it's too windy for us to conti-" Skye manages to get out as she gets cut off by some lightning, we turn around to see a bunch of heavy dark clouds coming towards us.

"Pups! Get your pup-houses and into the Paw Patroller!" Ryder shouts from inside the Paw Patroller.

We spring into action and waste no time, all wanting to get to safe grounds. I pick up my beach towel and some of my toys that I had left right outside my pup-house and throw them inside, I hit the 'vehicle' button which turns my house into a police cruiser and drive as fast as I can towards the Paw Patroller, I felt some rain start falling as I got inside but we were all inside in the dry.

"Is everyone here?" Ryder asks whilst making sure that nobody and nothing got left on the beach. "What now?" Rubble asks, clearly concerned about the rest of our vacation. "We'll just ride out the storm in here, for now you pups can take a rest." Ryder replies as he looks out the window to check the state of the weather.

I checked the clock and it was almost noon so I decided to take an early lunch, I walk over to my water and food bowls, contemplating whether our holiday would still go on the same. I look out the window and see a dark, gloomy, beach with bits and pieces of paper and plastic flying around, along with a few beach chairs and umbrellas getting knocked over in the distance.

I finish up my food and start looking for the other pups, "Pups?" I ask the open air... no response. Huh, weird. I enter the living quarters and see each of them asleep on their own beanbags, I decided that that too was what I needed, I carefully lay down on my dark blue beanbag, being careful to not wake the others up and doze off, being thankful for the darkness of the storm, yet still hoping for the rain clouds to blow away in a hurry.

Rocky POV

I was fast asleep in my slightly ripped up but working pup bed that I had found a few weeks ago behind some apartment. I was up late looking for food last night so a good nights sleep was exactly what I needed.

I was having probably one of the best sleeps of my life when I started feeling water droplets on my back paws, it was quite hot in my house so I assumed that I had just been sweating. I just tossed and turned to wipe some of it off, but as I started feeling more water, I sat up with a start. I look up from my bed and see the ceiling leaking water. "Yuck.. wet." I say whilst jumping away from the dripping water.

I just stare at the hole in my roof for a few seconds thinking of what to do, I go over to a cardboard box that I had laying around and I opened it up and grabbed one of the old hammers that I had along with a small piece of wood. I push the cardboard box under the hole so I had something to stand on. I hold the piece of wood and the nail in place with one paw and the hammer with the other. I pound the nail down and slowly let go of my grip on the wood, anxiously waiting to see if it would keep in place.. "perfect" I say with a smirk, proud of what I had done, I reach down and grab another one of the nails and hammer it into the other side, to keep it stable. I jump down from the box putting back the hammer and nails along the way and push it back to where it was.

I run over to my laundry basket and grab one of my dirty t-shirts and wipe away the water that was on my bed. Once I had finished cleaning up, I headed for the window, just to check what was happening outside.

I jump up to the window sill and see that its still pretty dark out, that can't be right. Just to check again I headed for the entrance and open up the creaky front door that I had, I instantly regret my decisions when wind starts blowing the rain into my face and into my house. I sigh as I force the door back closed and just head back to my bed, leaving the wet mess at the front door to dry out on its own.

I'm just settled in my bed as things take a turn for the worst, I hear some banging on the side of my house, I crouch down with a whimper, fearing the worst. Like a scenario that has happened in the past. I had mixed emotions when I saw a soda can smash through my window leaving glass everywhere and water streaming inside, thankful that it wasn't the scenario I was fearing, but frustrated at well... the fact that I didn't have a window anymore.

I knew what I had to do, but I didn't know if I had the courage to do it, I grab a piece of plastic that was big enough to cover most of my body while still being light enough to carry, I headed back over to the front door and brace myself for the rain, as I open it up and close it as quickly as I can while getting outside, I make a dash for the hole that I had dug for situations like this, wherein the house just isn't safe for me to be in.

As I near the hole I hear some commotion going on behind me, I turn around and see a tree branch fall and barely scrape the side of my house but still leaving some damage, "Sure glad I wasn't in there huh." I say out loud, I continue running for the hole, leaving that project for later. As I jump down into my bunker type thing I shake the water off of my fur and shut the trapdoor.

It wasn't the nicest of rooms, but it was good enough for me to ride out the storm, I had a small sheet of cardboard to lay on and a small lamp for some light, the room was barely tall enough for me to stand up straight but I was gonna be laying down most of my time here anyway so it didn't really matter to me. I turn on the lamp and lay down on the sheet of cardboard, I just lay there, listening to the rainfall and thinking about what I was to do next.
