When Carmen finally peels herself away from her friends, she starts to think about the events that transpired. The look on Rhea's face when Lyra attacked her was incredible. But the look on her face when Carmen stepped in, and put her fists in the air, was one to remember.
The thing about Carmen is she's wanted to be a heel since she started training at the performance center. What a better time to make that turn than now? When Rhea Ripley, who is arguably the most dominant and badass woman in the company, needed a female in her corner?
She smiles proudly at herself and makes her way to the locker room. She grabs her bag from her dressing room on the way and pulls out some clothes and a towel. Just as she opens the curtain to an open shower, about to undress to step in, she hears someone walking up behind her.
"Hey." A strong voice sounds.
Carmen turns around and finds herself face-to-face with Rhea.
"Hey." She replies.
"So what the hell was that out there huh? Creative do all that?" Rhea asks, folding her arms across her chest.
They've never met before, never spoken to each other. Yet she wastes no time getting to the point.
"Lyra attacking you was her own idea that she pitched to creative. Why? I don't know." Carmen says.
Rhea tilts her head and purses her lips, her eyes squinting. She's thinking about the betrayal. Wondering why Lyra would want to turn. But Carmen doesn't have those answers.
"And your role in all this?" She questions.
Carmen grins confidently and leans against the wall, folding her arms across her chest as well.
"That was all me. I heard you were here and Lyra's plan. Told them I wanted a match tonight on NXT with an old rival so I could break it up. I've always wanted to be a heel. Now they have no choice but to let me be one." She explains.
"So this was about making yourself look good." Rhea says, lifting her head and looking down the bridge of her nose at her.
"I guess you could say that. But it also put a friend in your corner. An ally to help you." Carmen smiles.
"I don't recall asking for help or any allies." Rhea says, her face turning to a scowl.
"Well you got it anyway." Carmen challenges.
Rhea sucks her teeth and looks Carmen up and down slowly. She's still wearing an all black outfit that's covering 90% of her body, so there isn't much to look at except the hourglass shaped curves the outfit is defining. When Rhea looks back at her eyes, she shrugs.
"Don't think this means you're getting a free pass into The Judgment Day."
Carmen raises an eyebrow.
"You don't want another member?" She asks.
"I don't want you." Rhea says bluntly before turning and walking away.
Carmen scoffs and rolls her eyes. She wonders how Rhea could dare to talk to her like that after she came here to help her. Yes, she had other motives as well but who cares? She helped Rhea. Gave her a female friend in the WWE Universe.
All the things they could do, the potential this gives, and Rhea acts ungrateful? Scoffing again, Carmen undresses and steps into the shower. She cleans herself up and steps back out with a towel wrapped around herself.
She's drying her hair when a pissed off Lyra Valkyria rounds the corner and glares a hole straight through her. Carmen chuckles at the sight.
"Relax Valkyria." She says.
"Relax? You completely screwed me out there! What the hell was that?" Lyra shouts.
"I could ask you the same thing!"
"What does that mean?" Lyra is seething, practically screaming.
People are starting to gather in the room to watch, not caring it's at the showers.
"It means don't bite the hand that feeds you! Ripley was giving you attention. Relevance. And you used that and turned on her. For what? To make yourself seem big and strong? It made you weak. Attacking when she least expected you to." Carmen argues.
"Weak? I'll show you weak!" Lyra shouts as she throws a punch to Carmen's jaw.
With that, Carmen blocks her next strike and immediately delivers a blow to her cheek. The two start fighting, for real, with Carmen eventually ending up on top of Lyra on the floor.
They wrestle around, delivering blow after blow to each other until a strong arm wraps around Carmen's waist, hoisting her off of Lyra. She growls and reaches out for her as Lyra swipes blood from her lip.
"That's enough!" A familiar Australian accent bellows from beside her ear.
Carmen stops fighting and is let back down onto her feet. She turns to see an infuriated Rhea looking back at her. Rhea then looks at Lyra.
"Go get checked out." She says.
Lyra huffs and stands from the ground before storming through the crowd of women and out of the bathroom. Rhea's gaze shoots to the crowd and the glare on her face is enough to send them all fleeing without a word.
She looks back at Carmen, who adjusts the towel she's wearing before folding her arms, and raises an eyebrow.
"You got a thing for beating up Lyra?" Rhea asks.
"She swung first!" Carmen rolls her eyes.
"Don't...roll your eyes at me. And this isn't school I'm not busting your ass about it." She says.
"Then what do you want I'm cold." Carmen replies.
"Meet me tomorrow at 6am. Don't be late." Rhea says.
She turns and starts to walk away.
"Meet you where?" Carmen asks.
"I'll text you the address. Don't be late." Rhea says over her shoulder as she leaves the bathroom.
Carmen goes to tell her she doesn't even have her number but she's already gone. The whole ordeal has her confused. Why be secretive about where to meet? Why does she even want to?
