The rest of the week has been pretty uneventful. Aside from some more fooling around, movie nights and game nights, the three have just been enjoying each other's company. It's their last day together and they've spent it mostly in bed watching movies.
It's almost 4pm and they all have to be at the airport by 8pm. Buddy's going back to the AEW and Rhea and Carmen are flying out for Payback. Carmen fell asleep during the last movie and is softly snoring when Rhea pecks her nose, her cheek and her forehead with kisses to wake her. She whines a little and buries her face in her chest.
"Five more minutes." She mumbles.
Buddy chuckles and reaches over to rub her back. She smiles but hides her face more and they let her stay that way for five minutes. When she starts snoring again Buddy leans over and turns her head, kissing her lips. Carmen wakes again and kisses him back, her eyes fluttering open when he pulls away.
"How does sushi sound?" He asks with a smile, running his fingers through her hair.
She didn't even realize how hungry she was until now.
"Amazing." She smiles in reply.
"Then we better get up and get our things in the truck." Rhea says.
Carmen practically jumps up and off the bed, making Rhea and Buddy laugh as they stand as well. Each of them grabbing their bags and heading to the truck to fill it.
Rhea climbs up into the driver's seat. Carmen lifts the middle console turning it into a seat and sits before Buddy climbs in next to her on the passenger side. He smiles as they each buckle up and Rhea backs out of the driveway.
On their way to Rhea and Buddy's favorite sushi place, they each put a hand on one of Carmen's thighs and she giggles. She puts her hands on top of theirs and squeezes them softly.
"I'm gonna miss this. Miss you." She smiles at Buddy.
"It won't be long until you see me again babe." He smiles back.
Rhea pulls up to the sushi place and Buddy holds a hand out to Carmen when he gets out. She takes it and climbs out, following him and Rhea into the restaurant. He doesn't let go of her hand, and Rhea places hers on the small of Carmen's back, as they walk to a booth and sit. Carmen sits by Buddy and Rhea sits across from them.
They order a large platter of sushi and Buddy takes a photo of Rhea before uploading it to his Instagram. She laughs a little and Carmen eats quietly.
"Something wrong?" Rhea asks.
She's too deep in thought to notice, just pushing some fallen rice around in the soy sauce with her chopsticks as she chews.
"Carmen?" Buddy speaks up.
Carmen jerks her head up and looks between them before swallowing her food.
"Huh?" She says.
"Are you okay?" Rhea questions.
"Oh..uh..yeah I'm good." She smiles.
Rhea raises an eyebrow at her and looks over at Buddy. He looks back at Rhea with an obvious 'not buying it' look. She turns her attention back to Carmen and sets her chopsticks down.
"Out with it Carmen." She says.
"I'm fine Rhea. Really." Carmen replies, looking back and forth between them both.
"Carmen.." Rhea speaks low, her voice threatening.
"Rhea.." she challenges with the same tone.
Rhea balls her fist on the table and goes to stand but Buddy reaches across the table and grabs her hand, unfolding her fingers and shaking his head. Carmen sighs and grabs another sushi piece, quickly shoving it in her mouth as Rhea lowers herself back into her chair.
"Can I talk to you?" He speaks to Rhea.
She nods and they excuse themselves from the table, walking outside. Carmen slows her chewing and watches through the window as they talk. Rhea's upset and Buddy looks calm as ever. He looks like he's reasoning with her. Rhea glances over at her through the window and Carmen gulps her food down before looking away and setting her chopsticks down.
Rhea and Buddy walk back inside, taking their places back at the table. Carmen looks at Rhea, who continues to eat, then at Buddy, who winks at her. She smiles softly, thankful they're not mad at her. Or, at least, he's not.
When they finish eating, Buddy pays for the food before guiding them back out of the restaurant. They head for the airport, which isn't very far, and check in. It comes time for them to go to their separate gates and Buddy envelopes Rhea in a tight hug.
He's rubbing her back and whispering sweet nothings in her ear as she buries her face in his neck, kissing it softly. Carmen stands there awkwardly, looking around and rubbing her arm as she waits for them to finish. When Rhea finally steps back she's smiling as she grabs her duffle bag from the floor and throws it over her shoulder.
"Bye Buddy.." Carmen smiles lightly at him.
He raises an eyebrow and opens his arms. Her smile grows a little bigger as she walks into them and hugs him. Buddy wraps his arms around her, just like he did with Rhea, and rubs her back too.
"I'll miss you. But I'll see you before you know it." He assures her.
"I'm gonna miss you too." She replies, enjoying the hug as she rests her head on his chest.
Buddy kisses the top of her head before letting her go. He leans over to Rhea and kisses her softly but passionately before smiling at Carmen again.
"Good luck." He says.
She shrugs and giggles before saying, "thanks but we've got the win already."
"Mmm," he hums, "good luck with that too." He says before glancing at Rhea, turning and walking towards his gate.
Carmen frowns a little and watches him go before turning to Rhea.
"If that's not what he meant, what was he saying good luck to?" She asks.
Rhea places a hand on her lower back and gently pushes her in the opposite direction towards their own gate.
"You'll see."
